Other than being respected in the community and being known for a trustworthy person and having a good idea, what other ways to find funders and investors?

I would like to start a gambling website for mainly PvP so it will need fairly little starting capital since people will be playing against each other rather then the house so there is no house edge , we will only take the rake from each bet  people play.

This might require a loyal good quality freelance developer (to develop first then to maintain it safe forever) in the pay loop and designer to make it look good , marketing will be done by me and all of this might cost some coins and I do not have it , my budget right now is about 100$ or slightly more , I might need a starting capital of 1000$ first and after that I might go with the earnings or maybe will need bigger funds to market even more the get more attraction.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

i think you have to move this topic to the gambling section since it is more relevent to that board and you are more likely to get answers there

I'd do it via UIA (user issued asset) - sell people shares and promise to pay dividends to them after your site is live. of course, it's not that easy to get investors without any trust.

you can issue assets through Bitshares, NXT, Qora to name some examples.

There's a very slim chance for getting Investors or Funders for your site when you claim that your budget is only ~ 100 bucks, and one of the
reasons is that people are searching for secure ways to increase their investment, whereas your site (even tho it's pvp with no house risk) couldn't
secure the funds in cases of exploit or theft of sorts.
My suggestion is for you not to even try to build something with such low funds, maybe better if you invest in old and reputable gambling sites instead.

cheers

I wholeheartly agree on most stuff but the website won't hold any coins since it will be pvp and people will not keep a balance on the website so that way people wouldn't have the chance of getting robbed by neither me or anyone who hacks me.

Just an idea I had so people wouldn't be afraid if I would be hacked or even if they do not trust me and think I might say I got "hacked" and steal the money , that way they will always have their money. It will just pass through me but only bet by bet , no balance.

100$ is literally nothing in gambling business.

owners of main gambling sites are usually creators of threads here on this forum in gambling section (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=56.0), just sort the threads from views/replies and you will easily determine main ones.

anyway, believe me or not, is better to stick to something else. for example buy and hold bitcoin:)

First of all , if you say buy and hold bitcoin you MUST be new. Bitcoin is not an investment it is a currency , it is for buying and selling just like dollars , do you buy dollars and hold it?

Secondly , there are MANY places that started even less then 100$ , it is about the coder. For example Stunna paid shit ton of money to get his website made but moneypot was coded by the founder , its even opensource , doog coded just-dice back in the day , he was even keeping the stats for satoshidice until certain point while he was coding just-dice.

So yes,  if you need a coder it costs , if you do not need a coder its only your time and labor which might be valuable or not since its your website it depends on you.

Also I would not have ANY house bankroll since it is PvP so I wouldn't need anything other a safety net and a marketing budget.

ok, so this statement is probably one of the biggest bullshits, which I ever read on this fancy forum..

yes bitcoin should be handled as currency, but because of volatility and low amount of vendors accepting it, well...now it is just investment and bet on future price, nothing else. if this is so hard to admit for yourself, will be better for you grab your 100$ and run away..

btw, visit this section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=7.0 - maybe you will be surprised.

Just because people do use it for exchange doesn't mean it is for that purpose , the purpose of bitcoin is to become a decentralized currency unlike all others. People also bet on forex and dollar vs euro or dollar vs yen etc etc but that is not why we use dollars right? So yes you may see it volatile and you may bet on its future but that is not bitcoin is for and I will not use bitcoin to make money I will use money to make more bitcoin.

Who are you to decide what bitcoin is for; we will use it in whatever way we want. And wth are you saying, one second it is a currency like fiat, and another you're
saying that it shouldn't be used for trading ?! Split personality or what ?

btw use bitcoin to gain more bitcoin by means of trading.

cheers

i recommend NXT asset exchange where you can easily create a own asset for 1000 NXT. Then everyone who want to can buy shares of this asset with NXT and BTC.

yeah, NXT is pretty advanced for this case. I like how easy it is to issues dividends and organize it.

you can advertise your website with signature campaign like many other are doing, and provide something new like dadice with their integrated faucets

something that has to do with farming and level will always work, try to add a fun game in it, if you do not have a big budget to start with, it may be a good magnet for attracting big players

that or possibly putting out a "looking for investors" thread in the securities section might do.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

There isn't really any safe way to take investments like this without having built up some trust first. Most just wont trust you at all enough to invest in your site as many people just try scam this way. Maybe you could look for an already trusted business partner to act as some sort of escrow on it or gurantee it but even that will be risky for that person and most wont want to stake their rep on the line.

What do you mean with pvp? If your website doesn't have access to the investor funds then how will you pay out big profits from gamblers when the investor doesn't send you the coins then?

Besides that... all new gambling sites have a hard time getting profitable i believe. There is simply way too much established competition already.
