http://www.telesurtv.net/english/news/Over-260-Kurdish-Fighters-Killed-in-Week-Long-Turkish-Raids-20150801-0008.html

Close to 260 Kurds, most of them civilians (including dozens of children) have been so far killed in massacres conducted by the Islamist regime of Turkey since July 24th. Turkey claims that it was targeting military bases of the PKK, but according to the ground reports, most of the casualties occurred in the village of Zerkel, where PKK was not present.

Hold on there, they weren't civilians.

And this is not a darn genocide. In Turkey we have a lot of kurds, some of them are good, some of them are bad. We don't mess around. BUT! Through the Southeast Anatolia, you'll find a lot of kurds that they think they are not living in Turkey's soil instead of they think that they are living in "Kurdistan's" ofc. That is not a real country. I watched a video like a week ago or so a few APC's carrying soldiers to another base had to pass through a Kurdish village (southeast anatolia ofc) and saw that EVERY person in the village INCLUDING children were throwing rocks at the APC's, transport trucks. Damaging them a lot, but the soldiers didn't do anything.

If they are there killing those PKK people, go ahead. Every soldier who is doing that has my support.

And there can be no better way to help the Islamic state, than bombing the Kurdish villages and killing the women and children when the men are away fighting the ISIS.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about?

Erdoğan probably got pissed off after watching his friends in the ISIS getting kicked in their asses by the Kurds (including the YPG and the PKK). The Turks have been killing the Kurds, and attempting to wipe them out as a separate ethnic group for many decades now. But this is not going to work. No matter how much they try to exterminate the Kurds, the Kurdish nation will survive.

I personally do not like Erdogan and ISIS, but I do not like "SOME" kurds as well, don't forget that they were(and still are) living in our mountains, I am saying "in" not "on" and killing our soldiers, doing raids to our military precincts etc.

Not more than a week ago they killed an Officer in front of his family.

a turk is not a human being

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

What is your opinion about the de facto ban on the usage of Kurdish language and the ongoing discrimination against the ethnic Kurds? And why you are saying that they are living in YOUR mountains? The Kurds have been living in South-east Anatolia for many centuries now. This region was never inhabited by the ethnic Turks.

When it comes to Armenians, yes, Turkey stands for a wholesale genocide of this people. I know several families whose ancestors were almost completely wiped out by Turks. Oh, and is it a surprise that a UN resolution that would have acknowledged the genocide of Armenians was voted down, by the usual culprits.

If Kurds want their own land, if they don't want to be a part of Turkey, then they should separate. Peacefully. As per the UN charter on self-determination of peoples.

“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
“It is important to fight and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated.”

you know that turkey will never allow it and the west needs turkey much more then the kurds.
right now there is support because the kurds are basically the only force on ground to fight isis.

the west doesnt want to send troops i think that should be pretty clear already.

All turkey does in this situation is shrug their shoulders and put on a smug face. Kurdistan and the Kurds have been a thorn in Turkey's side for years, Turkey wouldn't be upset if thousands of kurds died. The Kurds are really stuck between a rock and a hard place.

If given a chance, the Turks will exterminate the remaining Armenians as well. This was clear from their conduct during the Nagorno-Karabakh war of 1993. The ultimate aim of the Turks is to recreate the Greater Turania, which stretches from Hungary in the West, to Kamchatka in the East, including regions such as Central Asia, Balkans, Southern Russia, Caucasus, Arabian Peninsula, Xinjiang and Mongolia.

Turkish air raids kill hundreds, if not thousands of Kurds (the vast majority of them civilians) every year. Erdogan and his AKP will be more than happy, if their allies (ISIS) join them in butchering the Kurds. There is only one solution to this. Create an independent and sovereign Kurdistan, with or without the permission from Turkey.

Why won't there be peace on this planet. Everybody hates each other. All our countries have their borders, fix the problems you have with politics not with human lives. This is just too sad, there were someone's father, son, husband etc.

The Turkish deal with the United States sets up an “ISIS-free” bombardment zone along a 60-mile strip of the border region that features another exclusion: At Turkey’s request, it is also explicitly a zone free of the Kurdish militia, even though the Kurds had begun advancing toward the area to start battling the Islamic State there.

Quote
“It’s a nonsensical situation where you have P.K.K. fighters who are called ‘terrorists’ if they happen to be on the Iraq or Turkey side of the border,” Ms. Salih said. “Yet if the same fighter crosses into Syria, he is now ‘working with the coalition in the battle against the Islamic State.’ ”

All the political complications are troubling to Mr. Raman, the radio operator who spends his days behind the green drapes sending in airstrike coordinates. His tools include nothing more than a walkie-talkie, a Samsung tablet and a cellphone, on which he has a screen saver of Mr. Ocalan’s face.

He sees himself as a partner of the Western pilots flying warplanes overhead — just as he sees the P.K.K. as his militia’s partner in the fight against the Islamic State. “If the Turks bomb the P.K.K., they’re in effect helping ISIS,” he said.

First of all, they were terrorists. Not civilians. Second of all, those attacks didn't come out of nowhere, those terrorists are killing soldiers and police every day since july.

The Turks are the masters in conducting genocides without attracting international attention. If you have any doubt, then just ask the Armenians, Greeks, and the Assyrians. And there can be no better way to help the Islamic state, than bombing the Kurdish villages and killing the women and children when the men are away fighting the ISIS.

Bryant, I think you got emotional way too soon into the debate. Kurdish question in Turkey is quite similar to Palestinian question in Israel, Albanian question in (formerly serbian) Kosovo or Chechnyan question in Russia. It doesnt have simple answer (as you seem to imply).

Turkey did not destabilize Syria or Iraq, that was United States. Of course, Kurds - locally best organized and motivated force reacted with uniting their own enclaves, emboldening in the process bulk of the ethnic group residing in Turkey (one of the leading NATO members).

Insisting that carving new state out of four nearby countries somehow magically solves all regional problems is simply naive and you should know better than that.

I am also quite disheartened by Erdogans conduct, however automatically accusing the "stronger side" of evil has became regrettable (not to mention hypocritical) custom of westerners.
