A while ago now, I reported the Bitcoin Foundation thread as being inappropriate for Bitcoin Discussion, and doubtlessly many others have done the same. Legal, Service Announcements, and Project Development are perfectly good areas to place this. In case these reports were ignored, I reported the thread again. However, it is becoming evident that mods in charge have a conflict of interest. Had anyone else created a "foundation", it would promptly be moved out of Bitcoin Discussion, even before the first report, and even without 800+ posts on the subject.

I hope this public thread will allow the forum to call into question the integrity of our Global Moderators, and force them to moderate without bias in the future.

The Foundation is very important to the Bitcoin ecosystem, so its main thread should exist in Bitcoin Discussion.

"The Foundation" as in "a foundation". If someone else had made one, not Mt. Gox, I doubt it would have stood there.

Which bias is it? Cause there's more threads against the foundation than for it at the moment. That might be my bias, I'll admit it  Wink.

But really, how many different threads do we need about it in Bitcoin Discussion? I just think it's something that interests people and inspires discussion, evident by the many many threads and posts within. Hopefully with lots of ideas and discussion we can come up with answers to difficult questions at the moment. I'm okay with having multiple threads to support different viewpoints. I'm not okay with half the threads on the first page being about it. Does where a thread should be really have to be so black and white? Really a lot of threads in Bitcoin Discussion could be classified into subforums as well. Same with Marketplace.

No actually, it's not.

There's your bias right there.

You really think that a foundation with $200,000+ in funding and the support of MtGox, Gavin, BitInstant, etc. will be unimportant to the Bitcoin ecosystem? I wonder why so many people are arguing so vehemently about it, then...

If someone else had made one, not Mt. Gox, I doubt it would have stood there.

Possibly true. It is important because it has the backing of several big players.

Eh, let it have its heyday for now. Not everyone is pleased with it, but it is still a pretty major announcement.

Its heyday is over. Time to move to Service Announcements?

I agree with the spirit of your complaint.  Moderation should be unbiased.  But I also recognize that the various subforums are not really the place for announcements for lots of people to see.  Overall, the moderators do a good job of keeping the main forum cleared of cruft, while keeping it interesting and maintaining the ability for everyone to post there.
