can someone give me a walkthrough on how to get into a mining pool. i made an account and set up a miner but couldnt figure out how to get it to start mining in a pool. i really want to get into the use of bitcoins any help would be MUCH appreciated.

for btcguild (its the same for all pools)
1. DOWNLOAD A MINER!
2. make a .bat file where the miner is installed
3. put this into the .bat file:
phoenix.exe -u http://worker_name:worker_password@btcguild.com:8332/ -k poclbm DEVICE=1

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
