hey guys!

i have literally been off from btc and this forum for nearly 5-6 month now... just wondering if there has been any darastic changes or any new updates on Bitcoins or is everything still the same old? had a project to create a new unique coin but put that on hold for a good reason. Did a few search but would like my friendly users opinions.

soo... anything new with bitcoins? ups and downs? what about the forum?

You forgot to mention that the forum was hacked. OP I would suggest that you change your password imminently.

Things have been pretty much the same, and one couldn't summarize everything. There have been a lot of discussion in regards to the block size debate. Adoption and investments are still on the rise, and the price recently went over $300. Bitcoin Core 0.11 was released with pruning (partially implemented), which should solve the problem of storage in the future. Karpeles was arrested and charged with fraud (not sentenced).

bitcoin is doing well we are holding a new floor quite well, the forum instead still has some random error and slow down, hopefully the migration to the new forum is near enough, maybe before the end of the year?

Not much. The forum experienced several downtimes within the first quarter of this year (one that I remember is about social engineering, one was a DDoS attack), which kinda sucks because it hinders me to access this site. With those downtimes, I suggest you to change your password even though the even took place months ago. About the bitcoin ecosystem, not that much. Still the way it was before, though the issue on whether to increase the block size or not is still present. Several news from here and there just like the old times, no major issues or whatsoever except the block size increase. Oh and there was a stress testing that happened weeks ago that caused the network to slow down drastically and for backlogs to occur.

Bitcoin has "died" a dozen or more times again. So it's still business as usual, and Bitcoin is doing fine.

Also, Bitcoin turned out to be even more resilient under stress and spam-pressure than expected.

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
