My question is:
Does everyone who says that they opted in get included in the list (to make 83) and then if they win and didn't have their sig changed they are skipped
OR
Do you ignore the people who don't have their sig changed and don't put them in the list to start with?

Currently none of the following have valid sigs for the competition:
niko
DeaDTerra
salty
Isokivi
Jay_Pal
DrHaribo
QuantumQrack
MrTeal (not in the list anyway)
crosby
001sonkit

+1, I would wait for Tom to finish the list as well I would advise keeping your bASIC sig in place.. after all how do you verify that they had sig in the first place? As a side note, I hope there are only 81 entrees as that would make me a winner!

http://we.lovebitco.in/raffle.html - TICKET 10 (FLHippy)

Before I congratulate the winner and thank Tom for this wonderful giveaway, SOMEONE PLEASE CHECK MY LIST AND THE MATH!

If I'm not mistaken, the contest states EST, not EDT. That would make the winning block #205496, and the hash ed33d2e9fc. Recalculating using your list, turns up ticket #25. I might very well be wrong though.

You are right, it does say EST, not EDT!  Yay...?

I thought the raffle was over, so I changed it back to my usual educational sig about twenty minutes ago... Just in case, I'll change it back to the bASIC until we hear from Tom - who, I hope, is safe and dry.

this does not make sense at all. I will change my sig as soon as I find the time. everyone who was not at least screenshot during contest time with a wrong sig is in.

the imho only question left is:
should the first post in general count or the first post stating someone is on the boat?

btw: I love how the blockchain makes it possible for us to figure out the winner even with cablepair without power. and: be safe tom!

I have my fingers crossed that I am the winner. I sure could use this win.

I also hope that Tom is OK I am watching the morning news and NY/NJ got slammed by Sandy. 12 foot storm surge! homes on fire. it's a real mess up there. 16 deaths reported (apparently my dead friend did not make the list of dead from Sandy).

Dont know if any user is there more than once though or if I missed someone

That list looks correct!
I also resulted in that list, spreadsheet below:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Arv_5WJHy_54dEh4U3VNRzhNQndwMHZXeW11NFJHbUE

EST time is UTC time minus 5 ( or 4) hours.

If the difference is 5 hours:
---------------------------------------------------------------
This is the last block mined before 4 AM  UTC:
http://blockexplorer.com/block/0000000000000090cfb456075f4efe71b232442c4664c105da4162ed33d2e9fc

- 5 hours would result into 11 PM EST!

The winning ticket would be #29 -> Odi.
---------------------------------------------------------------

If the difference is 4 hours:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Last block minded before 3 AM UTC:
http://blockexplorer.com/block/0000000000000280fffb2bcb8afd997a8a391076d83120d02264cbe0410e8f71

- 4 hours would result into 11 PM EST.

The winning ticket would be #50 - > dmcurser
---------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/utc-to-est-converter
It seems like I should take the 4 hour difference.

First of all, I have counted RaTTus twice in my original list. So, according to my corrected count, there were 82 contestants, not 83.
As for which entries are to be counted:

(snip)

(A) You must change your signature title to this (just copy and paste whats inside the white box in your signature box in your forum profile settings)

Code:
[color=black][b]54Gh/s bASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices[/b][/color]
[color=orange][b]Pre-Order Yours Today![/b][/color][b]
[color=black][b]Only $1069.99 ![/b][/color] @ http://www.BitcoinASIC.com[/b]

and then you must post a response in this thread to officially enter the contest.
Sounds to me like all responses should be counted, unless duplicate from the same person. No need for "I'm in" and such.

To win you also must follow all the rules and meet all the qualification guidelines as described below:

(snip)

NOTE: I will be checking the winner out very closely. If your number is picked and you do not meet all of our qualifications completely you will be automatically disqualified and the prize will go to the person who entered immediately after you did
(snip)

Sounds like the winning number is first picked, and then the winner is eliminated based on rules.

Now, about the EST/EDT issue: if we go strictly by what was written, and read and think in "Legalise" - EST  is UTC-4. If we go by what Tom most likely thought, it's the EDT=UTC-5.

Given all the uncertainties, I'm almost thinking we should agree on the list and the EST, and then have Tom pick one future block for the new draw.

They're there, in their room.

I arrived at the same list as cambda in my google docs.

As much as I'd love to win, I got #50 - > dmcurser too.  He used the block before 3am UTC in the past drawings, so it should be - 4 hours.  Also corrected EST to EDT above in your quote, and put it in bold

#204388 - week 3
#203328 - week 2

oh boy...

Please let me clear up the confusion....

First off let me apologize for not being here to take care of the last week of this contest - Hurrcane Sandy hit NYC and was supposed to be heading upstate - thank God we got lucky and only had minor effects here - NYC was not so lucky as 10 people died due to the storm.

Anyways back to the contest - Please understand - here we have both Eastern Standard Time and Eastern Daylight Time.

Technically it switches from EDT to EST in the beginning of November, so technically we are in EDT right now but in less than a week it will change back to EST

however It is common for people around here to refer to our timezone as "Eastern Standard Time" year round - we just change our clocks by an hour twice a year and don't think about it (especially since now everything is digital it switches the clocks automatically)

This contest has always been chosen by the block that was solved before 11:00:00 PM MY TIME which technically was EDT but for fun lets call it CFT or Cablepair's Fucked Up Time - since I fucked up.

as someone else pointed out - using the first three weeks as precedent you can tell we were using EDT or the newly created time zone CFT

now the last block to be mined before 11:00:00 PM EDT/CFT was:

http://blockexplorer.com/block/0000000000000280fffb2bcb8afd997a8a391076d83120d02264cbe0410e8f71

Last 10 of block hash: e0410e8f71

Official Contestant list :
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AupRanrgfgJedHRfSEZneERlQTV4WkhUQTN6aUZGeXc&pli=1#gid=0

Total contestants: 80

according to :

http://we.lovebitco.in/raffle.html

winner is: dmcurser

Please PM me from your winning account with your address and I will get your prize(s) shipped to you ASAP.

Thank you to everyone for playing!
