I'm hoping this thread is in the right spot Smiley

I've had two brand new Antminer S3's (w/ no power supplies) just chilling on a desk for the last 8 months doing nothing and just now putting aside the time to devote myself to figuring out this whole Bitcoin mining thing. Yay!

So this is my first post Smiley

I'd like to get some beginner information such as the best places to start learning exactly what I need to learn and what to avoid with the intention to have the shortest possible learning curve and get up and running as soon as possible please Smiley

So far I've read this AntMinerS3 Tutorial a couple of times and have an idea what needs to be done.
http://www.rubicite.com/Tutorials/AntMinerS3Tutorial.aspx

One area I am hung up on is the power supply.

I would really like to just buy one really good power supply that can support both Antminer S3's, each over clocked, and of course with enough cables to power all 4 rails.

So yeah, that pretty much where I am at...

I'm looking forward to learning lots about this and making it work!

Thank you so much for any and all wisdom that you pioneers have to share with a newbie such as myself.

Thanks a ton!

Hey there welcome to the forum! I've never owned an S3 but I can definitely confirm that mining is extremely fun and exciting especially when you're new to the whole crypto scene  Smiley I read tons of tutorials when I was setting up my first miner but in the end I found YouTube videos to be the best for learning, it's easier when you see how it's done. Here's a detailed video on setting up the software side of the S3 https://youtu.be/u0pEPjo3BWU
Also you can get an estimate of how long it's gonna take you to ROI here http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator
You can also check out threads from mining section of the forum, that's where you're most likely to find the real pros  Wink
Have fun!
