i dont experience such problems. maybe try to contact your ISP

it's rather strange that you don't have these errors... It's an nginx 502-error, so it's server-side, so it should be the same for everybody...

Maybe you're just lucky Wink

Yep i`m getting that too ocasionally, like 2 times /week. Looks like the forum needs a better hosting provider, or bigger bandwidth, in the 3-4 years we`ve grown into a big community, and many people post here so we need a bigger host and bigger bandwidth.

I would like to know if the issue we are all having is a result of some sort of "peek hours" and caused by server load, or is it in fact some sort of an attack?
Either way, it's quite anoying, since it strikes me very often in the hours i am available to devote here.

cheers

I also have 503 errors and connection timed out error.

Sucks when you are trying to post something because everything is lost, but I'm luck and only happened when I browse

There is already a thread about that in Meta. It seems the forum has problems all the time and theymos claimed it's coming from the ddos protection service.

Now he tries out different other services. Might be that the one he actually is testing brought these problems.

Same here within the last half hour that I've been (trying to) use the forum.

My network provider is Viasat.  Obviously this error is from the forum, but it is possible that whatever is going on is aggravated by network problems of one form or another which is why I mention it (and wish others would also.)

sig spam anywhere and self-moderated threads on the pol&soc board are for losers.

"502 Bad Gateway" Me too got this error sometime back while loading the pages. Fortunately it wasn't a long wait as before when it lasted for about 2 hours or more.

Looks like its when the forum is overloaded or being attacked by hackers.

I havent got any error in the last 2 weeks so i guess the admins have fixed the problems or found a better host/ firewall service.

I'd like to know the answer to that question as well. I've been caught in that error a few times now.

This 1-2 weeks, '502 Bad Gateway' appeared when I am surfing on this forum, but it will like for few minutes or less, then back to normal.
But it happens like few times a day now.

Just want to ask is this only happened on mine...
I also experienced the same problem when I visit from my mobile.

set with free google dns...
8.8.8.8 or 5.5.4.4

I also usually get an error like  "forum database error, please contact the admin if this problem persists", if i`ll get it again i will print-screen it.

It is much rarer than the 502 gateway error but it is still happening sometimes.

This happens to me when I use a broadband usb stick.
But when I use our internet (wired) in my office this never happens
I guess this is because of the internet connection.

I started getting them now to.  At first nothing pops up just seems down.  Then goes to 502 error.

Hopefully goes away soon.  That makes a few times in not a long period.
