For what it's worth as one of the VIPs here.

Further, due to recent censorship regarding BitcoinXT and discussion on using larger blocks on /r/Bitcoin I suggest users start using https://voat.co/v/bitcoin

Actions by Mods on Voat are free for everyone to see.

Because Bitcoin XT is a fork, they move those threads to Altcoin board. If I want to have a conversation for altcoins I would open that subsection.

Well I hope they pull it out of the alt board once 8mb blocks have the majority of nodes and hash power...

Politics aside, I find this classification of XT as an alt pathetic. It unquestionably does have implications for Bitcoin and should be discussed as such. The varying mods are making themselves look like penises.

If I want to fork Bitcoin so it shoots popcorn out of my arsehole then I expect it to be debated by the people who are using it in its current form.

As far as I know XT is an alternative client. Just like Armory and all the others.
And when the majority is ready to use XT the fork will automatically happen.
And this fork will happen.Like it or not.

This is the best argument I've heard on these boards in awhile. I for one look forward to bitcoin shooting popcorn out of holes.

XT is the temporary clients between the core and XT whith Blocksize increased! XT is for accumulate the response from the public! If XT is adopted by the majority, it is the time to apply Blocksize increase!

Moderation is not censorship.  You don't have free speech rights on private servers.

Censorship would be the US govt or other authority seizing xtnodes.com, forbidding distribution of or running XT, and possibly sending Hearn to Siberia or at least putting him under a gag order.

XT is a mere 3% of the network, and that number won't grow just because histrionic Gavinistas start comparing theymos to Hitler.

Politics aside, I find this classification of XT as an alt pathetic. It unquestionably does have implications for Bitcoin and should be discussed as such. The varying mods are making themselves look like penises.

If I want to fork Bitcoin so it shoots popcorn out of my arsehole then I expect it to be debated by the people who are using it in its current form.

exactly.

actually qt was a fork too! we are using....an ALT already!  Shocked

lucky you're in the alt section at all, if there was any consistency on btt, talk of bitcoinxt should be banned altogether just as btcs was.

Personally i'm perplexed to see Theymos is both owner of btctalk AND moderator for the reddit. That's not very decentralized is it?

You don't seem to understand what "decentralized" means.  Everyone is free to start their own forum and reddits.  The barriers to entry are astonishingly/vanishingly low, thanks to our present golden age of information technology.

Theymos inherited this forum from Satoshi, and he's not the only mod for the reddit (much less an admin or owner).

If I want to fork Bitcoin so it shoots popcorn out of my arsehole

NACK!

Uncertain if people will get that; pull requests (i.e. changes to Bitcoin) go through a sort of review process, with three short-hand codes used; ACK (I've tested and it looks good), utACK (I've read it but not tested, looks good), NACK (Nope)

Dogecoin Core developer, ex-researcher, trader.

Unless stated otherwise, opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect that of other Dogecoin developers.
