I found this an interesting quote -
Hong said a huge Bitcoin problem - although a feature much liked by a niche user population, mainly cybercriminals - is the lack of a mechanism that would allow a transaction to be reversed.
“In the future cybercurrencies will allow this,” said Hong, who indicated that probably rules would be written that specify “the transaction will be reversed if YZY does not happen.”
Automated escrow or multisig already has this addressed to an extent.
I think it's way, way too early to declare a winner yet, though every day Bitcoin spends operational adds to the trust it's earning.
If there is to be a Bitcoin killer it doesn't exist yet and will probably arrive from a very unexpected place.
