Personally, I find all those conspiracy theory regarding causes of 9/11 simply too complicated and not logical enough to be probable. The official version might not be that exciting but the one in which US goverment is responsible is quite absurd. Not that I don't think they wouldn't be capable of doing something like that, it's just that it would require so much resources and manpower that would be almost impossible not to come out.

No this isn't realistic at all. I can make up much better scenarios . What do you think about making sure that Russia not going to get access to warm water oceanic ports and can't build pipelines to those, by taking over or isolating Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Iran. Bonus: controlling all the oil, gas, existing pipelines and other natural resources over there. To achieve all of these goals they needed a casus belli...

You need to read the declassified CIA document called "Operation Northwoods". See how far the U.S. Government will go to deceive you. They planned on killing their own military members, citizens. The part where they make a duplicate plane, fake passengers, etc is quite similar to what could have been done on 9/11.
