Hi Guys!
I am from Chennai, and I recently purchased Antminer S3 through a contact from this forum. I also got Cooler master Silent Pro 850 watts SMPS.
But Unfortunately the 6 pin to 6 pin female PCI-E connector cable is missing. Can anyone help me where to find one in Chennai. Or online. If you can post me links it be great.
I have inquired with Challenger Computer, IT depot, and Delta Peripherals and host of other electronic shops.
One shop however had an 8 pin to six pin Female connector.
This cable seems a little difficult to get. I had to show its picture and only a couple of guys understood it.
Help Me guys!!!

From what I have understood from your post, it is likely that you can use the 8 pin - 6 pin in his case. In the 8 pin connector are the 6 pin together and the other 2 pin a little disjoint? If that is the case you can use it to connect the 8 pin on the miner and connect the 6 pin to the smps. The extra 2 pins can be left hanging.

There is a 6 pin Female socket on the miner and a six pin female socket on the SMPS.
Only 8 pin to 6 pin converter is available in the market.
there is no 6 to 6 or
6pin  to 6+2pin where the 2 pins can be left hanging.
it available on cmstore. but no shipment to India.
I don't understand how Cooler master can sell a product without any support.

Cooler master has the following out puts
24 pin to cpu
(4+4 ) 8 pin x 2
that comes out fixed from the SMPS

5 pin Female sockets x5
6 pin Female Sockets x3

Antminer, again has a 6 pin female Socket. Therefore the connector required is a 6pin PCI-E to 6 Pin.
If its 6pin to 6+2 pin then we can leave the 2 pins hanging.

One more doubt is that can the
(4+4 ) 8 pin x 2 coming out of the smps be used with the 8 pin to 6 pin connector. Will it have enough Voltage and Amps to power the antminer by connecting this way?

Thats the one i have been using, as far as i believe. the corsair has pcie written next to them for the 8 pins. give it a try. worst case miner will not work.

I will be receiving one of the original cable from the seller today or tomorrow. I can probably show this one in the shops and ask for it.
Also Delta Periphrals in Chennai have asked me to wait till Monday. Lets see.
However, I found its available in www.moddiy.com. So who ever stumbles upon the situation like me can refer to this site.

I this its better to go for a corsair than a cooler master because of the pin issues.
I checked a lot of youtube videos and box openings
An 8 to 6 PCI-E is available easy as a spare.
6 pins on both miner and smps makes it a little difficult with the case of cooler master.

Has anybody have info on
BITMAIN AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU Series

as to.
1. How many units of S3 it can handle
2. can we combine s3 and s5 on same psu

Bitmain is selling S5 on second hand.
Total cost with shipment comes around Rs.30000
but how about duty and tax?

I am yet to start the machine!!!
I don't have the cables yet. Will be able to  tell you what you need after Monday.

I built a DIY rig with ASIC miner and Raspberry pi.
It was pretty slow actually.
Check with Nirmaan Computers in Mumbai. But they do GPU based mining.

Don't buy the bitmain PSu. only 3 months warranty, whereas corsair gives you 5.
1. i dont think it can handle more than 2 and a half s3.
2. it should be possible

S5 second hand out of stock now.

s5+ being sold now. approx 1.65 lakhs before duty and tax.
