Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

This was funnier.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Something Awful honestly stopped being "cool" 10 years ago. Now it literally is teenagers and kids in their early twenties, only. Yes, it's been 10 years since I've even consider myself a regular of the site, though I've followed them to games like Eve and etc. JeffK's interviews used to be funny, and lowtax's old IRC/IM chats, but the only thing that kept it going as an original source of work for so long was Photoshop Phriday which I continued to participate in for a few years. The forum and "activism" on it kind of got lame. It used to not be about disrupting other communities, but mocking in a fun and original way so that only the participants in the mocking knew what was going on. Now I'm not sure what the site has become, but it's not really all that funny. Still has some good people, but like any community that gets too big, it's a mix of funny and bleh.
