Hello all I am fairly new to mining but it's an amazing hobby for me and I have decided to invest into it for the future. I would love to share my love for it by creating a pool as I already have the servers and resources to do it. I just would like to be able to set one up A. to learn more about mining and pools B. to maybe meet new people who share the same interests as me and want to do the same. If I were to build a site and new pool would any of you be interesting in helping create something great? I will be willing to share the profits with all who can help.

I was looking to start out with cryptominers.xyz as the domain name and build it out from there.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to approach this or advice on moving this forward?

Thanks in advance for yor help.

So if you have servers, does that mean you are comfortable with linux? Really, I think that is the biggest hurdle to configuring a pool.

Past that, look into your code options like MPOS, NOMP, UNOMP and if you want to cheat you can find auto install scripts, but being new to it I would recommend against taking the easy way out.

I am used to using centos or ubuntu. Mostly in the web hosting world. Not too familiar with compiling etc. I also just want to start my own pool and see how I can help contribute to the crypto world.

Well thats a good start.

Compiling daemon's is usually pretty easy and all coins will have *nix build instructions in the doc folder.

With that in mind, my advice would be to find a coin that you have the means to mine that has little network hash and start by setting up a private pool for your own testing. Get that working THEN maybe look at creating something grander.

Thanks I was thinking something along the lines of x11 algo or scrypt algo. Any thoughts on what is in demand?

I have never used these guys personally but i see and hear good things about the service they offer

Checkout mp-hosting.co.uk you never know they might be able to save you the headache of starting from scratch, i believe there VPS based and you get full root access.

That I couldn't really say... I do not do much mining these days and not sure what would be in demand.

There's a dude on Fiverr.com that usually has an ad -- to setup a Scrypt pool for you -- just $5.00 -- assuming you supply the VPS.
