We're looking to create a new site using dicing scripts and have a few questions we were hoping you guys could answer!
- Are there pre-existing dicing scripts we can use, are these secure?
- Are we better off hiring a dev to write our custom script from the ground up
Thanks in advance for the help!

Yes there is, a free dice script from Dan that has been use multiple times and so far no backend or other error found whatsoever

This is a must. The free script from Dan has been used multiple times and people are skeptical with this however if you are only looking to have a feel on how it is to own a dice site than go ahead and use the script but if you are thinking of getting serious in this business then you need to write a script from scratch but do take into account that this gonna cost you alot with no guarantee that you will success. Statistic shown that most people here dont really trust a new site so its kinda hard around here especially there are alot of older dice site

I actually just saw a well-done video tutorial on setting up Dan's untitled-dice script:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqOF9C7IwFc&feature=youtu.be

it shouldn't be too hard to setup, and unlike some of the other scripts is free from exploits and backdoors. However, you're probably going to need to do something rather unique in order to attract people.

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

Using old reused dice scripts and site designs is not worth it anymore. It sure is cheap and you can probably start your casino with very little effort and basically for free, but in the long it is not worth it.
Why? Because people are tired of the same old script being reused every time, the name of the game right now is innovation.
You will be better to create new script from the scratch and entice people with something new. If people see that your site is 4593th clone of PrimeDice then what is the point? They can just play on PD.

Without going into too much detail our site's going to be very unique in other ways, so I don't think we need to worry about that. I agree with the above though that losing 50% isnt acceptable. Would it be hard to find someone talented enough to make an unexploitable script very similar to Primedices?

It is not hard to find someone talented to make a good script if you have the funds for that but the problem will be finding someone trusted enough to make you the script as the person could be putting some exploitable backend.

Plus that the other problem would be that if you have the funds for that, why would you go with something similar with PrimeDice? People are fed up with the same script over and over again and making a clone of that wont sell your site. Your main objective would be finding someone trusted enough to build you a unique script from the scratch ( if you have the funds for that which might cost alot )

The dice script that you mention probably is the coindice script that has been used by alot of dice sites around which unfortunately claimed to have alot of backends from few unsatisfied buyer (references below) . Unfortunately statistics has shown that the site that uses that script actually either end up suffer because someone win huge ( could be due to an expoit ) or that close down their business due to the lack of players ( which is pretty obvious due to lack of innovation )

Not really, Dan's free script has been proven to be free from exploit and nasty backends

It's easy to underestimate the amount of work that goes into a bitcoin casino.

Even before you've started working on the game itself, you're mired in hard math, security, and engineering challenges like interacting with the bitcoin network. And no matter how well you do on the technical parts, attracting people to it is a gauntlet of its own. And if you're planning on being the house, you've got to inject enough capital into the bankroll to attract wagers.

Implementing both the server and the front-end website of a dice site involves two wildly different and challenging jobs. Unless you have the budget for some serious talent, you're not going to have an easy time finding someone that can do both.

Consider building your dice site on top of https://www.moneypot.com/ if you go the route of hiring a developer. It takes more than half of the work away. Since Moneypot handles the bitcoin interaction, bets, users, and bankroll for you, you and your developer can focus on your casino. It'll be cheaper, you'll launch much faster, and Moneypot eats all the risk.

Anyways, if you ever need help vetting a script or developer that you stumble across, feel free to PM me and I'll try to help. Smiley

in case this is you ( and I am almost sure ) then Dan's untitled dice should be good enough
and secure
