UPDATE: Sorry, seems the labels are still broken. It seems certain actions results in the labels reverting back to their default values. This is extremely frustrating to say the least.

-------------------------------------------------

Those who make use of accounts on Electrum would have noticed that the account labels do not work. You will be able to rename an account but that label will revert back to the default value the moment you rename another account. Labels will also revert back to their default values when you close and reopen Electrum.

Today I found a solution, by pure accident but it works.

I can unfortunately not post screenshots at this stage but the steps are easy to follow. Do the following:

1) Open Electrum and go to the Address tab,

2) Your first account should have the name 'Main account' or similar. Double click to the right of this name under the Label heading just as you would when you change the label of an address. Make sure you double click in the Labels section.

3) Enter the name you want for the account in this Labels section and press enter,

4) Do the same for each account you have,

5) Close Electrum and restart it

Your accounts should now be renamed and the text you entered in the label field should be gone.

I use Electrum together with a Trezor. On the Trezor I have a wallet with 4 accounts. On Electrum I cannot create more than 2 accounts. If anybody knows a way past this I would appreciate it if you can share a solution.

UPDATE: Managed to get the account creation sorted out. The labels are however definitely broken. See its broken in Electrum-LTC 2.4 as well so I take it it will still be broken in Electrum (BTC) 2.4 for windows.

----------------------------------------------------

If anybody is looking for a solution for the problems I mentioned above i.e. the account labels and the fact that you cannot create more than 2 accounts on Electrum then switch to Encompass.

I just did and the labels are working and I've been able to create more than two accounts so I can see all the accounts inside the wallet on my Trezor.

Not sure why Encompass works as its based on an older version of Electrum. Maybe newer is not always better.

Glad to hear, I see it has also been sorted out in Electrum-LTC.

Seems like they are currently running ahead of the Electrum-BTC development as their releases are coming out quicker and more complete.
