Rules:

  • You may open multiple accounts and enter as many times as you'd like.
  • Post your Bustabit username in this thread after illustrating to enter.
  • The contest ends on August 31st.
  • Winners will be announced in the 1st of September.
  • Only real Bustabit charts are accepted

Rules edited after my first entry... (godzilla)
"Only real Bustabit charts are accepted" Part was added
Means my entry should be valid isn't it?
I don't want to be mean but that's not fair Sad

I inferred from the contest itself that it was only legitimate bets. "Use your wins, losses, and differences in amounts and cashout points to create cool drawings and pictures!" Otherwise it would have said "create a dot-based image and throw it over to us!" Its wording was pretty clear.

You said it: "Use your wins, losses, [...] and cashout points to create cool drawings and pictures!"
And that's actually what I did. I used the points editing their position manually instead of getting their position from my actual bets.
In both ways you have a control the position of your points.
From my point of view, I did respected the rules given at the moment when submitting my entry.

I think it is just an addition words to make it more clear, and of course yours is not valid.  It is fair because it is clear before they add those words. So I think you just misunderstood the rules.

So you won all of those transactions? If not, you didn't follow the rules. Hint: you didn't win all of them, because they weren't valid.

I didn't created those points. I've edited their position. In fact, all those points are real bets point that shows the profit and all info when mouse is over one of them.
And, there's gray points. So no I didn't won "all" of them. But all of those points are real ones but not at their original position when the page loaded.

Still right according to the given rules when I posted my first entry.

You're missing the point. The idea behind this is to get people to wager in specific ways to create pictures -- not just edit something. I could take a blank canvas in Photoshop and just edit it there, if that's how it worked. I think you're the only one that was confused by the rules. To the rest of us, it was common sense. As a heads-up for the future, if you're unsure about something, just ask. Any of us could have clarified that for you, and we're not even running the contest, Smiley.

It's a betting contest. Not a graphics design one.

Maybe he meant what you're saying, who knows, we can't read in minds, can we? ... Still, I've made my first entry according the everything that was said in the contest post. And I'm not wrong on any points if we compare to what that has been said before I post it.
You are defending a point that wasn't clear or not well planned in the end...

Either way, I've got my second entry already posted and this one is respecting the new rule that has been added.
I hope no new rules will be added later.

Let be honest here. My entry is valid. But it pissed everyone off because that'd be too easy. (for coders that will have major privilege on others that don't know html/css) Am I wrong?

I guess there's no need to argue any further, people deny my first entry to a rule that has been set after the entry. I'll just accept it I guess.

P.S.: May I add: "a contest to see who can make the coolest illustration" That's what he said right? Tell me if I'm wrong but that means graphics design isn't it?

In its current form, I believe it's a square root sign.

This is awesome! I was going to do a number sideways (like 1337) but had to give up on it. With bonuses and uncertainty, and especially with things like sometimes running into multiple quick explosions, it just wasn't feasible to chase after.

Yea the bonus system should have an option to be disabled for this competition i guess. Otherwise its too hard to make something really nice Smiley

Maybe not be disabled, but like allow a flag for the chart that either shows profit with bonuses or without. I think that would be better anyways, in regards to seeing progress over time.

That's a good point. I think the bonus medians out to 1%, which won't make a big difference. We aren't looking for perfection, we're looking for originality and uniqueness Tongue.
