Qdice.net & Plinkopot.com Present: 175,000 bits giveaway cryptographic challenge

We want to thank our loyal players and wanted to do something different.  Instead of running another most wagered contest(although there will be more of those), we wanted to do something that everyone would have an equal chance at.

Here are the details:

  • Somewhere, on qdice.net, and plinkopot.com are the tools needed to get you started on your journey.  This is a challenge involving a decent amount of cryptography and is not for the faint of heart(or mind).
  • There are a few different steps to the challenge (6ish), each step unlocking the key to the next and each increasing in difficulty.
  • I may choose to drop hints if people get stuck.

Challenge is valid until 8/23/15 at 00:00 UTC at which time I reserve the right to end it and reclaim the funds.

Here is where the funds are:

Checked the sites, till now found nothing. I think the ultimate answer will be the private key of the address.

I've got a mac so would appreciate someone decoding this.

Edit: I've just opened both files up in hex editor and I'm pretty sure something is in there but I'm fairly inexperienced in this.

There's DEFINITELY something there.   3 people found it already even.    3 that I know of are on step #4

Right on track. Smiley

Then you get the text which is hex, figure out what it is, and know that there is no spoon, and connect it with namecheap, and figure out the password which may or may not exist.

I can confirm that there is actually a password.   And that the methods to get that password are there.   And no, that does not mean try and brute force my server, and SQL injections won't work either. (I'm sure there were a few people thinking about it)

lol, I wasn't honestly sure. Thanks for confirming.
Had participated in a small kind of hackathon on the forum and it had a fake page like this to mislead the players. Wink

I have no idea how to do that (esp. the SQL injections part) tho, so no worries from me. Smiley

Another day gone, and my bits are still safe.    For anyone who is on step 4, do you see something there that doesn't make sense?   Why would I take the time to do that?

I think it's pretty generous.  $50 worth of BTC for what could be not that much work.   Thats more than plinkopot makes in 2 weeks sometimes.

maybe but even if that is a $50 worth of BTC its alooooot of time for that 50$ ill rather be going to grind on poker and make that in 10 days then search for clues witch makes no sense (atleast for me) and stuff like that Tongue... Only my opinion...
but maybe there is someone who likes that (but i dont know anyone who does) so gl . Cheesy

Check this in the blockchain and add a .xyz to go to a domain.

We have a logo, favicon.ico -> V.
Hint was given on chat that V stands for 5.

Any guess on the password?
