Hi all. I'm a novice on this forum. I want to know which Bitcoin wallet is the safest and the most convenient at the same time? I've heard good feedbacks about Armory but as I understood it works only with Bitcoin-Qt. But Bitcoin-Qt weighs more than 30GB... Is it worth of this? Perhaps someone can share better variants and explain why - I would be very grateful for recommendations. I will recommend you MultiBit and Blockchain BitcoinWallet(Android Application). I use both because you can download your wallet at your cellphone. I like to have the control of my money without a pc.

You know about the issues that blockchain.info android wallet had with using random.org for it's seed and basically giving the same address to everyone: http://arstechnica.com/security/2015/05/crypto-flaws-in-blockchain-android-app-sent-bitcoins-to-the-wrong-address/ (other discussions of this can be found on this very forum). I don't know if I'd recommend and app with a reputation like that.

To you guys who are saying that core is very heavy with storage space, I believe the new version 0.11 now supports pruning mode, so the storage space shouldn't be as much of an issue as it used to be.
are you sure about this? i didn't know about this feature prior to your post, so i searched and read this https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.11.0#block-file-pruning reading this part Block pruning is currently incompatible with running a wallet due to the fact that block data is used for rescanning the wallet and importing keys or addresses (which require a rescan.) However, running the wallet with block pruning will be supported in the near future, subject to those limitations.
i wonder , does this mean that it can not be used by people who want to use core as a wallet?

Looks like you're right and those who want to run core as a wallet won't be able to do pruning mode for now. In any case, I guess it's already clear that core isn't the most convenient (it might be the mose useful, though). with any smartphone it's better to recommend the bitcoin client, which is something akin to core, for androind, it offer the best protectio for mobile
I think Amph is talking about Andreas Schildbach's Bitcoin Walet for Android.

Safest bitcoin wallets : If you can have your private keys, then they are basically safer to use. The safty of a wallet is based on your encryption password only. Convenient wallets : Bitcoin core, Electrum and Multibit from my experience.

They also dont require you to log in all the time. I 2FA'd my transations, though. I'd say a cold wallet would be the safest, as it is the most secure, besides a paper wallet. You cant really access a paper wallet easily, though...

I'm was using blockchain.info and they were my favorite before but they had a downtime of around 1 day and I had my bitcoins locked in there, after that I started using electrum and it's working so far, not sure if it's the safest method to store bitcoins though.

Yes mate, I second this! Online wallets altogether and especially blockchain.info wallet which is by far the worst and the buggiest out there shouldn't be used or should be used for extremely small amounts that you can afford to lose. When you are using online wallets you are not in a sole control of you money and you are pretty much trusting third party to save your money. Keep this in mind, everybody that are using online wallets!

I agree with you. Safety of a wallet is not in it's coding. It's depends on the security password we are using. The higher encryption the safet is more stronger. Easy navigation and pleasant looks are making convenient wallets.
