Is this a Bitcoin wallet Huh

it's bitcoin XT, but that link seems suspicious

aside from this it seems that Xt does not come only with a bigger block but a better ddos defence, like it was planned to have by satoshi after his last post

Hi there,

I'm pleased to announce the release of Bitcoin XT 0.11A!

Download it from our new website:

    https://bitcoinxt.software/

I'd like to thank Anna Mendoza for her hard work on the new logo and website, thanks Anna!

XT 0.11A has the following upgrades over Core:
Bigger blocks
Double spend relaying
Better DoS attack defences
BIP 65 / getutxos support
DNS seed list refresh
There are reproducible downloads for Windows, Mac and Linux 32/64 bit. There is also an apt repository that contains the reproducible binaries for Linux 64 bit, so those of us running XT on Linux servers can get software updates more easily. You can get the instructions on how to configure that from the website as well.

If you would like bigger blocks without any of the other features, you should compile the only-bigblocks branch of XT git yourself. That will produce a program that identifies itself as Core but contains Gavin's patches to vote for+eventually build 8mb+ blocks.

@to the last two folks:

this version supports bigger blocks. it scales. if want to go to the moon with BTC, you should use it  Wink .

Why is Bitcoin forking?

Satoshi’s plan brought us all together. It changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of us across the globe. Some of us quit our jobs, others devoted their spare time to the project, still others founded companies and even moved across the world. It’s the idea of ordinary people paying each other via a block chain that created and united this global community.

That’s the vision I signed up for. That’s the vision Gavin Andresen signed up for. That’s the vision so many developers and startup founders and evangelists and users around the world signed up for.

...

A long time ago, Satoshi put in place a temporary kludge: he limited the size of each block to one megabyte. He did this in order to keep the block chain small in the early days, until what we now call SPV wallets were built (‘client only mode’). As seen in the quote above, it was never meant to be permanent and he talked about phasing it out when the time came. In the end it wasn’t needed — I wrote the first SPV implementation in 2011 and with my esteemed colleague Andreas Schildbach, together we built the first and still most popular Android wallet. Since then SPV wallets have been made for every platform. So Satoshi’s reason for the temporary limit has been resolved a long time ago.

I'd advise people not to move over to XT at this moment. With 3% of the hash rate they're an unknown quantity. Stick to what we know works & holds a level of trust at the moment.

I will prefer to stick with official core version when they don't have anything special in their client , other then just changed name

it has some improvements (beside bigger blocks) and there is no risk in running XT  Smiley

the majority of businesses, users and miners are in favor of bigger blocks because we need software that scales in the next 8-12 months.
