I'll go first: However morbid it may sound, I've been obsessed with learning the finer details of specific regional conflicts. This started with the Syrian war, and I began educating myself on the country as a whole (history, culture, military, etc.) around late 2012 or 2013 (when the war started to really escalate). I've gone so far as to creating a
LiveLeak channel on the conflict, which is a result of hundreds of hours of translating, finding map coordinates, investigating militias/weapons/locations, interviewing, weeding out bias, and downloading & uploading thousands of videos
The complexity of the situation there is mind-blowing...ask if interested, as I don't even know where to start
Now my attention has shifted to the war in Donbass / War in Eastern Ukraine...partially thanks to the war reporter
Andrey Filatov, who captured some of the best footage from Syria, and is now in East Ukraine. My knowledge of this conflict pales in comparison...but there's one good thing: I've learned to read a
lot of Russian!
