I have an S3, 3 7970's, 3 7950's and 3 750 ti's and expanding. I used to only have asics but as the industry continues to act like they don't know how a busines works and scams buyers I will use modular miners (aka gpu miners) and earn BTC that way.

Through alt mining with the gpus I suppose? What algo do you mine and how much does a 7970 make a day nowadays?

I don't make much I just have them mine neoscrypt via nicehash for now during the time I am home and keep them off while I am gone. The wife is terrified I will burn the house down.

What is your total investment on these rigs?  And how much you earn every day? Please let us know if you can.

Which kind of mining rigs do you use?

hardware mining is not profitable unless u have free electricity. my vote goes for cloud mining instead of mining rigs.

well yes i agree with you about hw minning is not profitable if you havent free electricity, but dont forget that most of the cloud mining are all/mostly an scam, so ppl should be really carrefully about that.

the last one was hdd mining, because it was basically free in terms of electricity and low heat which is good in summer, but sadly the only coins using it seems pretty much done now, maybe in the future if other coins like that can emerge one can think about returning into the scene

other kind of miners are useless because of high electricity

I have 8 S3s that I run from my home.  I also have some cloud mining contracts and I rent hash from time to time.

Not feasible for home mining, large power requirement and enough noise to make your wife assault you or break your miners. (seriously though you will need not just 220v but a hell of a breaker box)
It's almost not even feasible for datacenter operations either.  Sure, it's about the size of 3 S5s tied together, but you're not going to be able to rack these things... so it's open shelving for them.  Oh, and at 3436W from the wall... and with Bitmain explicitly stating not to use multiple PSUs per board, means you're going to have to either throw 3 EVGA 1300G2's per miner, or if you're getting more than one, you can use those IBM Server 2880W PSUs - 1.5 of them per miner.

Most certainly not a home miner though...

I am looking forward to a new piece of kit as well.  I passed on the S5, as well as the SP20 when they launched.  I'm still running my old S3s as they've long since paid for themselves and still manage to eek out a tiny bit of profit.  They obviously won't last forever - in fact, they've gone about 7 months longer than I anticipated they would thanks in large part to the minimal difficulty changes this year.

Small form factors are the way to go for the home miner, I've had a few RockMiner R3's and a range of Bitmain toys: S1, S3 and S5. I've bought some gear new in the past but mostly now from the secondary markets where people have given up earlier and sold cheap. Buy-mine-sell is the goal for me, typically I have miners shipping in and out of the farm every 8 weeks. Personally I found the S5 to have been the best product so far, only having one board die out a good number units used and sold.

I'm still using GPU mining rigs Smiley

for now I'm just using them to Fold some coins. But I believe they will be profitable once again as soon as I start mining Ether

For BTC I have S2, S3, S3+, S4, S5, C1, SP20E, BTC Garden AM V2, Bitmine Desk V2, and some S1's on for memories since they were my first miners I purchased off ebay when I first started.

I have 3x Sp35 Yukons hosted at a Data Center(oregonMines).  I also dabbled in some cloud mining at Genesis and Zeushash.  I find both not to be profitable at all. They take too much out for maintenance fees, so its just not feasible with BTC being the price it is.  Ill get my ROI back eventually, but its going to take over a year.   The Yukons on the other hand are BTC making machines.

i used hdd mining rigs because i can't afford the energy consumed, here is my country is so expensive so i need to find a cheap way to mine.

i wish to have cheap energy to build a little rig with some s5 maybe since they have less consume than s4 or s3, but is not the case.

I have around 10 usb asics mining solo, so far no block is found but i don't care about it because only negligible electricity is used in it.
But if 1 day i find a block or two then i'll be on the seventh heaven and will buy some block erupters or s5's and also mine solo with those too.
