Mods need to create a section of the forum dedicated solely to XT. This is getting ridiculous now, there must be 20 threads a day regurgitating the same stuff. It's getting really, really boring now.

I second that, give Xt its own threat so things can be moved there.

When one opens bitcointalk it looks like a forum for a debate about XT and block sizes as that is almost all you see on the main board.

Theymos might be busy with the mess he and some of his mods are doing in bitcion subreddit.
People there are pissed off by getting deleted their messages. Situation is really boiling there.
And here it won't be different if he keeps going with that kind of attidue.

But I agree that it doesn't have to be 20 threads about the same topic.

Good idea. A Sub-forum would be a good idea.

User polling shows about 75–80% support from people in online forums.
If posting wrong information means that one is making sense, then indeed he is. Funny how the majority does not see the psychological games that he is playing on the community. Hopefully we don't get to the point in time where Lauda tells you the following:"I told you so.".

The problem is that if you give special treatment to one altcoin (XT in this case), the other are going to want this as well. Instead they could also start punishing people for start threads on purpose in the wrong section (stuff for which there is already a thread or more).

Put it in the Alternative Clients section, I understand the supporters are happiest with that classification already.

If "relay the first observed double spend" were generally accepted as a bug with a clean fix available, it'd be fixed in Core; superficial searching says it got reverted as problematic and contentious but I don't know the whole story, nor do I have an opinion on the change.
Code:
 two minor things
One is for Hearn's Lighthouse project, and also got merged, found buggy, and reverted. Without those eyeballs, would the lack of testing have been addressed and the bug in getutxos have been spotted before it was widely rolled out?
The other is adding back the bitnodes seed node that was removed for behaving in fishy ways, and adding a seed run by Mike
Quote
Is XT basically going to be every patch Mike Hearn ever had refused by NACKs in Core? Where does that road take you as a user of XT?
It is much easier to manipulate the people around here than you think.

Full version can be found here.
Update:
I think both parties are making sense. The fact they want to keep BTC as intended by satoshi is a valid one. AND the fact the gmaxwell crew of 1mbers is questioning if it's scalable without a sort of a off the chain solution is also making sense. Common ground my friends.
Including buggy, unapproved patches also makes sense?  Roll Eyes

This split between Core and XT is possibly the most pressing issue about the future of bitcoin. There should be lots of people talking about this in multiple threads, expressing different views. This is going to be discussed and talked about more for months. I do not think XT discussions should be brushed aside into a subforum because this is about bitcoin. I have not picked a side yet, I am interested in reading more about it from both sides.

Everyone should receive the opportunity to state their case on this subject... It's important enough to receive a spot in the sun, but it's starting to draw a shadow on the main topic

being discussed on this forum. Just start to delete duplicate threads on the same subject, if it becomes too much. I should say discussions on the clients should be moved to the

Development & Technical Discussion or the Alternative Clients sub-section. { https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=6.0 }

On Reddit this kind of behavior border on Brigading.  Angry

One interesting line from that post as Im reading it:
"Would people decide to migrate to a radically different system, if given a free choice?"

The answer is obviously NO, or very slowly. Hell this whole Bitcoin experiment has proven that alone.

I'm guessing most people are just too lazy to migrate.  I wonder if there's some kind of chart out there to see what version of bitcoin core most people are running.  I'm guessing a lot of people still aren't even on 0.11.0 yet even.

Even though I do understand that Bitcoin discussion section is being filled with many XT and core threads, I also do think that this is the most important question at the moment for Bitcoin and all of its users. So are we on a Bitcoin forum ? I think we are, and I also think that such an important discussion and event that is taking place deserves as much place on this forum as it needs.

Cheers!
