Enthusiastically discussed on places like Cypherdoc's thread or reddit (before the ban).

The train has left the station. I think there will be a bigger block size sooner than we think and the change will be rapid. I'm not so sure it'll be XT. Even if it's a smooth transition there'll be permanent rifts.

It wont damage bitcoin for good unless everyone or almost everyone changes over to xt, but it will cause panic and uncertainty which is not what we want.

i'm sure that it must be done within the next year and before the halving if you don't wantbitcoin to remain "maimed"

remember that without bigger block there is no mainstream, in the case that this scenario will happen It will be prevented by the lack of bigger block..

I predict we will quietly see larger blocks appear after the first of the year.  XT will gain traction over the next couple months or so and quickly become the dominant implementation.  Core will reluctantly switch to bigger blocks before the fork.  A few diehard 1mb supporters will attempt to keep the 1mb chain from dying, but eventually it will fade into obscurity.  All the fud and controversy will seem rediculous for such a non-event, as usual.

I don't know how long until we don't have bigger blocks, but I am sure we will have them very quickly. The XT people have had enough and they have drawn the move and there is no coming back. I really hope their move just speeds up the implementation of the bigger blocks in the core and of course, the change of heart of the core people that are opposing bigger blocks. I hope this would happen and not a XT fork.

I pray for quick adoption of BIP 101 by the core developers. Mike Hearn as lead developer? Ouch.

Does that mean that most users have no opinion or that they don't care?

The bigger blocks will come. But it's hard to predict then it will be. I believe first half of next year would be possible. Furthermore I hope core devs change their attitudes and BIP100/101 will be implemented in Bitcoin core.
