Yes. The current inflation is 1.1 SHIFT per block (block reward). Our blocktime is 27 sec. So what is the supply increase per year?

3600 x 24 x 365 = 31536000 sec. per year. 31536000 / 27 sec. = 1168000 blocks per year. 1168000 x 1.1 SHIFT per block = 1,284,800 SHIFT per year (under the assumption that every block will be produced). However, this only describes inflation in the first year. The reward schema:

1.1 Shift from block 828000
0.9 Shift 1 year later
0.7 Shift 2 years later
0.5 Shift 3 years later
0.3 Shift 4 years later
The block rewards can be changed manually. We’re likely going to introduce dynamic fees (and dynamic block rewards) since this will be necessary for a proper revenue model for the storage nodes. (Lisk is also going to introduce dynamic fees.) So the reward schema will change in the future.

Shift has been hurt really hard in the past few weeks.
It lost over half of its value, which is surprising to me as they delivered their decentralized website and also plan to release whitepaper in late January (and more goodies planned in the near future).
Perhaps it was overvalued at $11.

For all Shift investors out there that are panicking I advise you not to sell. Shift is one of the few projects in crypto which will derive it's value from real life use cases. Unlike many projects in the crypto world who market ideas and words before realizing anything, shift does the exact opposite. Deliver first, Marketing Second. The crypto crash as many like to call it was imminent after the massive bull run in the last 2 months. This is just a normal correction which will shake out all the "get rich quick" type of investors. When you invest in crypto you must sit through the hard times as well if you deserve to win in the good times. Shift has a slow and steady grow. But once people realize it's true potential it could easily reach mc of a billion dollars.

Totally agree, I've been holding this for nearly a year (since it was $0.07) and have never sold, despite all the dips. This project is definitely still one of those hidden gems out there, and the team has developed an actual platform for real world use cases. It's a good time to accumulate more Shift before marketing is in full flight and many people finally know about Shift.

Shift's admin on Facebook said that the old chain was dead. Can't swap it. However, Ralf S, Shift's admin on Ryver said that he lost contact with Crush, the man in charge this project. So, Ralf S cannot verify who swapped or not. He has to wait the swap history from Crush, but Crush has been unactived for months.

This will be the first part of the four whitepapers.

The Introductory White Paper will be the first of four white paper releases, each being intended for a different audience. This paper’s scope will include discussion of Shift’s planned development for the year 2018, both our marketing and our technical visions for Shift, and basic information about Shift’s achievements so far. The Introductory White Paper itself will therefore consist of two parts: a technical part, and a part for a more casual consumer audience. Furthermore, the three other planned white papers will be introduced in more detail. This first white paper therefore has the purpose of producing material that is useful for introducing Shift to new investors, potential users, and new community members. This material is scheduled for release approximately a month after the release of the storage cluster to testnet.

I think this is a good plan from the Shifts team, I can't wait to see the whitepaper and plans for marketing Shift!  

EDIT: Ups, I didn't see the last three whitepapers will be released in Q4.So, we will wait a little bit for the rest.

If I had to guess, I'd say if the overall markets remain flat, I don't think we can expect significant movement from Shift for now (next month or two). Maybe it could get back into the $8-10 range with the whitepaper release, but as you can see on the roadmap, there are no major releases or advertising plans until a bit later. Of course, if the markets all go crazy again like in the spring of 2017, then who knows.

TL;DR, Shift is a long-term hold. I think $30 is unlikely next month unless the overall markets moon. Longer term, different story.
