Of course, this is an unpleasant incident for the team (and a great shame if it turns out that the keys for multisig wallet were actually stolen from one man), but it also might even turn out to be a good way to demonstrate the benefits of DPoS algorithm — even if rollback doesn't work out, the delegates will not allow the project to fail due to lack of funds.

Yeah, but deposits/withdrawals are disabled and major amount of SHIFT coins are stored on native wallets, not on exchanges. Let's see what will happen after the issue will be resolved. Anyway, SHIFT team has already proven that the project they're doing is at least is proven working and is demanded by market, so even if we'll see a huge dive it will be a great opportunity to fill the bags in anticipation of future growth.

I was referring to the stolen coins issue not the whole market has tanked issue, but guess you need to spell it for some people. Duh

Only a small fraction of Shift managed to get out, but there was some ARK, LISK and BTC on the hacked personal PC in cause.

So the rollback has been successful. A part of me is glad cause the whole project would be in serious problems and possibly dead. Kudos to the team and their quick reaction.

But another part of me wonders if the devs should have been more careful and stop this at the first place. Devs should be the first ones to be aware of hacking possibilities in crypto. I mean what if I or anyone else had 500k shifts and someone stole them. Would we be able to contact the devs, stop trading on exchanges and execute the rollback. Well I highly doubt it. And again this was a centralised decision in a decentralised project but I get why they did it.

I'm still a big supporter of the project and the still holding, but just kind of dissapointed with the whole situation. I'm sure devs feel a lot worse.

But I'm sure this will all be forgotten in a few months time and we can all focus again on the future devolopment

It's a good point of conversation, and it probably won't be forgotten. For example, ethereum also did a rollback of one of its first smart contracts. Ultimately the people buying it will be the judge of whether or not it was a good descision.

It sounds like they didn't even do basic security like encrypting passwords, I hope they learned from this.

What to do about the mistakes I often make，i always buy at a low point and sell it soon , but then i will find it has fly to the moon , but i have none. i bought SHIFT at 1100sat more or less at bittrex before , and sell it at 1500 sat , then i wait for price dump to 1000sat , but it never come , not only SHIFT , always after i bought a coin , i want to sell it soon with little profit , but if the price dumped after i bought i will hold this coin till value become zero ...

Look it's a better solution for you that you buy coins that you will hold for long term.Of course you need first to look deeper into the project, see it's visions and what it achived so far.Don't invest blindly. Also, it's good sometimes to take profits, so if the coin doubles in price sell some, but leave the inital investment alone.

Shift is still cheap, if you ask me and it's a good project with a bright future.
