Ronaldo and Bale words had sealed his faith and there was zero doubt in my mind that he would stay. I feel the president has let him down, he didn't support him, the fans whistled him which was really sad. He created history but now his carrier looks to be history it'll be very difficult to achieve this kind of success elsewhere.

^  Different clubs, different cultures.  It's also more of the club's fault.  And it's not just players, managers are unfairly treated too.

In the EPL, Chelsea comes first to mind.  They're so used to changing managers on Abramovich's whim that they cheer for them when everything's good and boo the out after a bad run.  Hilarious.

Edit:  Actually, it's the state of football this decade (in the EPL at least)...  Except for a few clubs.

Real Madrid fans are very demanding because, like you said, we've been spoiled by the club's succes. Other european clubs don't even come close to Real Madrid, the most succesful club in Europe, so you probably won't see that "mentality" anywhere else as fans of other clubs aren't used to their clubs having a sustained success.

Parlay REKT from the very first game, another blasted draw by Maribor, didn't watch so don't know what happened there. Once more, you got your single bet, Bordeaux good for their money. Definitely betting with my gut on parlays, with some semi-educated knowledge. Nowhere close to Moneyball or anything like that of course, just based mostly on form, and partially on waiting for streaks to break (which is why I like betting against a sure winner after a long winning streak).

Should have gone for RedBull/Bordeaux/Besiktas/Atalanta. They were equally good for the money.

Hat do you guys think of excluding Neymar from best 10 players list who will be the candidate for Balloon for I think it's a new shock for him adding on that it will be a new disappointment after the World Cup disappointment and media campaigns that made him looking worser then ever especially when it comes to his style.

Yeah, I don't know about that cashout option. I used it before with some regret on Betfair, but now I'm almost totally on Bitcoin only sportsbetting (except when I want to take advantage of bonuses or props). The odds are just way better to ignore on Bitcoin bookies. You should check them out.

Yesterday a lot of games ended by favourites winning the game. I believe the sport books have lost money yesterday but this is one rare case where most of the Europa league games ended as predicted. Atalanta a team from Serie A couldn't defeat a team from Bosnia while they were ahead by 2 goals was one upset. A few others not as big as this were also caused by late goals but I can say that overall yesterday was a good day for gamblers.

I don't think there will be VAR in the CL or any of the pro leagues.  It's FIFA that experimented VAR for this World Cup, which really had negative feedback mostly.  I hope they scrap it.  It's bad for the game.  Football is not basketball.  VAR is taking away the human factor in the game which makes it more exciting.

I think VAR has been used in the MLS (Major League Soccer) last season prior to the World Cup and I think it got a positive feedback in the USA. I don't watch MLS football so I am not in the loop much, but I have heard the World Cup commentators saying that it has been a success
and that's why they included VAR for the World Cup. My guess is VAR will be coming to more elite leagues later on.
By the way I just googled whether or not VAR will be used in the Premier League and apparently they have voted no so no VAR in the PL this season at least. Other major leagues have already approved of VAR:

If VAR is not implemented in the Premier league I think it is a disadvantage to the league. Premier league referee have one of the worst reputations in the world and VAR can cure a lot of these symptoms , especially in the small area where often penalties are not awarded.

Yeah, you could see the huge difference in the group stages and then in the knockout phase. VAR used so often, resulting in so many penalties and in so much injury times. They didn't use it so often and then the knockout stages were a lot smoother.

I'm all for fair is fair... but if VAR is not yet at a stage where football doesn't have to sacrifice seamless play and flow and players aren't encouraged to perform even more simulation and referees aren't pressured to give penalties/fouls simply because video seems to show proof. Referees are paid and tasked to do best judgment calls, depending on context. VAR isn't trained for that yet.

Perhaps if like in tennis, teams could ask for VAR a max of 1 time per game, or 2. Something like that MIGHT help but I'd prefer to just scrap the whole nonsense.
