If I'm comparing two mining pools in terms of payout, is the overall hash rate of the mining pool important?
If one pool has a slightly lower PPS rate but a much higher hash rate, is it worth switching to a pool with a much lower hash rate but a slightly higher PPS rate?
I noticed a better payout when I switched from a top pool to another top pool with a better PPS, but they were comparable in terms of hash rate. In other words I switched from Deepbit to 50BTC and noticed a better payout. They're comparable in terms of hash rate, but 50BTC has a better PPS. (Also 50BTC has a nice web interface!
)
I'm thinking of trying out Mt Red, as they are tops in terms of PPS. However they're not close to 50BTC's hash rate.
Also just for the record I tried the
50miner mining software. It seemed slightly slower than
giuminer, even though it has a nicer interface.
