Hi wonder if some of the senior members could give advice here.

I sold some btc to a guy this week and now he is filing dispute through paypal he didn't receive. He didn't fund the purchase through credit card but rather through paypal credit. So I don't have to worry about chargeback. Customer filed as not as received. So since I have the option to add tracking. Can I send piece of mail to him and upload tracking in the resolution center or should I go ahead and give details of the trade that customer bought bitcoin and was made whole. I have all chat logs where he thanks me for sending so fast etc. What is the best recourse of action here.

No you misunderstood I thought senior member have more knowledge. This was done outside of here. Basically this guy admitted in dispute he didn't receive BTC but the purchase wasn't funded with a credit card i know that with 100% certainty. He opened a Item not received paypal dispute. As far as I know paypal doesn't cover buyer for tangible goods, however since he claims not received can i just send him something in post and just upload tracking # which paypal wants from my end.

It's actually more around 100%. PayPal clearly states that buying/selling goods like bitcoin is not allowed, so your chat logs will only serve to hasten your undeniable chargeback.

This should serve as a lesson to never, ever accept PayPal for bitcoins/altcoins unless you'd trust that member to escrow the same amount for you.

Paypal is going down. Remember whenever you accept payment through paypal , always ask through email whether he is satisfied by your services or not before you send some irreversible payment stuff. Link above shows why you should not trade in paypal to btc.

Here is a little tid bit about selling with Paypal. First off, always and I mean ALWAYS ship something out. What I do is pay $2 for media mail, and print out the Blockchain.com Address Receipt showing they received it. I fold it up and put it in a CD case then ship it out. 2 days later its delivered. If they open up a dispute before that time its even better because Paypal sort of laughs that they didn't even give 48 hours for shipping. If they dispute after the fact, you will be covered by Paypal's selling protection because you actually physically shipped something out despite the fact its just a receipt. This will not work 100% of the time, however I had an issue when someone reversed $2,000 on paypal. The sole fact I won is literally based on the fact that I shipped out a $2 package with a receipt in it.

Hi,
I got a really bad issues with paypal, and for what that I know, it's impossible get a real transaction through btc & paypal.
If you send something and you have ALL PROOFS, paypal doesn't want NEVER help you as SELLER!
It's a simple rule for all users that sell/buy btc with paypal.
You want a nice advice?!?!?
Go to police, make an official inquires, where you explain with ALL PROOFS, your transaction, your btc wallet, your emails where you get the deal, and then explain your issues, send a message to the "scammer" and then magically you get your transaction over and the "scammer" choose to give back money or close the dispute with paypal.
If him doesn't want get a deal, don't worry, you have all tracked and there is anything that him can do it.

If you want I have a good material to "fight" paypal's chargeback.

This is the only thing that can save you with PayPal, nothing else. You are lucky that he didn't claim unauthorized use of the account, like he got hacked or something like this. In this case, the dispute would be over in half an hour for him.

My advice, if you have any real world info, try to humiliate him and scare him. Go to the police, send him a report. Or get his real personal info online so everybody can see what he has done, his close people and family.

Good luck!

With this communication proof also one can't stop reversing the paypal funds because don't like bitcoins so you will surely loose the claim.

When I got a bad issues with some scammers and paypal, the customers service tell me:

EVEN if you ship something and "it's virtual not physical" (REPEAT EVEN) you as seller are not cover by our protection program.

You don't sell a "CD" you are selling some btc!

I don't think there is some stupid scammers that open a dispute only after 2 days!

And, bear in mind, EVEN if you don't have a valide tracking code you are NOT COVER by paypal protection program!

I don't like your method it's full of problem and simple to "hack".

I used to sell on eBay, and its turned out to be 100% better than selling solely through Paypal. EBay actually has a seller protection program for digital goods. The terms and conditions of my trade also explain exactly how it will be processed. In my case, the user filed a dispute within 24 hours. I shipped out my normal proceedings 5 hours later. Once it was shipped, paypal sided with me. The user then attempted to chargeback using his bank but was "denied". Ebay and Paypal found no unusual activity on the account, and because the item was delivered to a confirmed address I won my dispute. With this being said, paypal alone sucks. Ebay has actually been 10x better than Paypal. They have a digital goods policy, and if you are very descriptive you can cover your ass. I no longer sell on eBay mainly because of the dispute time. I don't have questions on whether I will win a dispute or not, its merely just the process of having money tied up for 10 days. My word of advice is just to avoid Paypal and Ebay all together.

Yeah and this is why people don't use Paypal for bitcoin transactions.

Good thing you're not losing your money this time

But for future reference, check out some other money transferring sites to use

(Can't think of any on the top of my head)

Never use PayPal to buy Bitcoin. Try a site like LocalBitcoin.com and find someone to trade you Bitcoins somewhere near where you live. This is the best alternative and you always avoid being scammed.

Signatures? How about learning a skill... I don't care either way. Everybody has to make a living somehow.
