Can you explain this a bit more? He writes about donating harddisc space so how does the "mining with bandwith" works?

I have 100Mb/s, so i would like to know if i could earn from that. Tongue

But i fear the only way to make money from that to justify the usage would mean risk for me. I mean what is down- and uploaded? Copyrighted things maybe? And is there the possibility to get a virus?

That makes no sense. If you don't know the details, how can you be qualified to make such a decision? There are plenty of things that could go wrong with a method of coin generation, such as this one.

I dont believe in copyright. I believe in copyleft.

I dont believe in copyright. I believe in copyleft.

Belief is not correlated with importance. I for one might believe in a flying spaghetti monster deity and not believe in fires. Belief or not, you are liable for distribution of copyrighted materials.

It may be that it is a reward mechanism for supplying storage to the network rather than a bitcoin-like mining. The bandwidth aspect is probably part of the reward calculation. There is a similar system in Maidsafe

I look at Tribler from time to time but it's not a very active project. Maybe time to look in again.
