Hi!
I am using two cards for minning. Primary is HD 6870 and sec. HD 4770.
Till now I had installed drivers 12.2 and I could mined with GUI miner with both cards. Today I ugraded drivers to version 12.8 and HD 4770 is disabled by sistem, I cant mine with this card anymore.

Any fix for this or I need return to catalys 12.2?

regards

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Driver version 12.4 was the last version to support everything.

After 12.4, anything under the 5000 series is no longer supported in the new catalyst drivers, and AMD has a separate set of "legacy" drivers to use.

AMD Catalyst™ Driver for AMD Radeon™ HD 4000, HD 3000 and HD 2000 Series

Unfortunately it is quite common for the legacy drivers and mainstream drivers to break each other if both are installed.

Very questionable in my opinion as their current motherboard chip sets have 4000 series IGP. AMD claims they did this to shrink the size of the main catalyst driver download.  Roll Eyes

The link shows Version 12.6 of the legacy drivers, not 12.6 of the mainstream drivers.

Your best bet is to use Catalyst 12.4 (Mainstream) if you want to continue to use models above and below the 5000 series on the same machine.
