Hi There,

I have been thinking lately on buying this A2Mega and been searching for reviews and trusted sellers but I can't find any reviews and sellers
If someone here have personal experience regarding these miners, sharing your personal experience would matters to me.

Thanks & best regards,

You probably should post this in the AltMining section, since it doesn't have anything to do with Bitcoin...

That being said, I have a bunch of 88's and 110's - most of them I bought used, but I bought a couple from Zoomhash.  All in all I'm very pleased with them - the original firmware was kind of clunky and missing some really necessary features, but I made an alternative one that solves all my issues on that front.  Performance-wise all of mine have been very reliable - my only complaint hardware-wise is the PSU's, which are of dubious quality, but everything else is good.

Personally I actually prefer the 88's over the 110's, because they tend to run quite a bit cooler (or at least mine all do).  Power consumption-wise they perform at or better than the specs in most cases (the 88's are spec'd at 900W, and I typically see them in the 840-860 range.  The 110's tend to run closer to spec, around 1050 give or take.  They definitely prefer 240v power over 110v...

All in all I think they're a top-notch miner, and I think there's value in diversifying your mining capabilities - being able to do both SHA-256 and Scrypt, so these pair well with the S5.

Anyway, hope that helps!

Thanks MarkAz for the detailed info you provide, I really appreciate it.
So regarding firmware, do you think it is necessary to update it and not use the default one?

I have quite a few A2 Terminator 88 Mh/s units.  They are the best!  Definitely prefer the 88 Mh/s units over the 110 Mh/s.

If you keep these cool -- you can actually get them to use about 750 to 800 watts.

The reason I prefer 110 mh/s, I have free electricity, I have 4.5 terahash in sha256, now I want to try scrypt.

Thanks for the info.

Yes - I totally understand the free electric -- and have a similar situation -- but even with that you do have to worry about cooling, circuits, safety, etc.

I've found that working with units that are under 850 watts is much easier than units that can top 1kw - but your situation might be completely different.

It's up to you - you can do everything you need to do with the stock firmware, but with mine you get graphs, DHCP, and a bunch of other things.  It's an easy upgrade to do, and free.  Wink

I think you have a point, anyway do you know where I can purchase A2 miner either 88 mh/s or 110 mh/s?

I don't like ordering items directly from China and such - but that is me.

I've always bought my units off of Amazon or Ebay.  But it depends where you are located.

Once I have purchase the miner, I'll try it out.
Do you offer support because I'm not really experience when it comes to that, I could allow you a remote access and pay you in return.
Is that fine with you?

Ouch, wish we have amazon or ebay here in Saudi, the only upside here is the cheap electricity cost even free in some cases like mine.

Well - you should buy directly from Innosilicon -- they seem to have some good deals.  $1k for the A2 Terminator and $500 for new hybrid version for 60Mh/s.

Did you see:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1159195.0

Its just simple, free electricity means "free btc, ltc etc. etc"
with my existing miners, within 2 to 3 months, I'll be getting back my investment.

I maybe a junior member but it's not hard to analyze that with free electricity, mining and buying hardware is still profitable, that's a FACT!

Cheers to everyone,

I don't believe in free electricity , even if you think your electricity is free somebody downstream is paying for it

any im not questioning the judgement of people buying MINING hardware in general , its the fact that they are buying SCRYPT mining hardware ... right now even GPU mining is more profitable than scrypt free electricity or not.

If anything buying an S5+ will provide more profit than an A2 or any kind of scrypt miner with LTC going into the crapper.

You're wrong again my friend, If you think I'm stealing electricity, then you are mistaken, I live in  big camp located in the middle of the desert, now our camp have 5 1000 kva generators, imagine that power plant.

I don't think you've experience mining with free electricity, believe me either your mining with sha256, scrypt or gpu, all of them are still profitable, I'll say it again free electricity is free BTC, LTC etc. etc.

Your situation & experience maybe different from mine, you pay, I don't! pure profit 24/7 365 days  Wink

Good luck to your gpu mining Marvell1,

Cheers!

Lol i said nothing about stealing electricity , nothing is free though , somebody (im sure its not you)  paid a pretty penny for those generators and is paying for the gas they are burning.  Nothing is free in this world belive dat.

And btw captain obvious of course you are profitable mining ANYTHING with free electricity that goes withoute saying I i'll spell it out for you since you cant seem to comprehend what I am trying to tell you :

BITCION or GPU mining is currently more profitable than Scrypt mining due to LTC block halving simple as that its s dumb time to pay a premium for Scrpt gear right now since prices for this hardware is sure to drop significantly in the next few weeks , i think by at least 20-30%.

I had aprox. 30 units A2 Terminators. They work good, but they are some problems with quality 110MHash version (6 boards/10chips). Usually they are not new, but used (dusty fans, rusty screws), various fans inside, bad quality and insufficient PSU (usually noname only 1000W, but it need 1200W for mining 110MHash - 1200MHz frequency).
Also their consumption differ - older/longer boards inside consume aprox. 100W less than newer boards V3 and V4.
