We need the bitcoin foundation to fix the blocksize problem

The whole community has seen it: BTC has a problem. The world's markets are in turmoil and BTC, which should be some kind of a safe heaven to store your cash, pretty much like gold once was, isn't performing as hoped. Far from it actually, it's sinking because of the blocksize debate and the recent fork.

A solution would be a moral authority to take the difficult technical decisions, and that was supposed to be the role of the BTC foundation a while ago. Today unfortunately, many folks don't even know the existence of the foundation. Well, it still exists, right?

I hope the BTC foundation could help the community to put the blocksize debate behind us.

No. I haven't read anything about the foundation for a long time, maybe a year. I don't spend much time following that kind of things. Please, tell me more about it. Did I miss something?

That's more comprehensible. The Foundation has been involved in scandal after scandal for the last few months and has been a disservice for Bitcoin. They paid millionaire salaries to themselves and end up "bankrupt" and they are basically dismembered. They do not serve any purpose to Bitcoin, they only serve themselves. They're the last ones that can help with doubts about block size. For all purposes they do not exist anymore.

its about to be resolved sooner or later miners will realize they all want to have 8MB blocks but not XT.

Core devs will refuse to implement this for them

Miners will do the work themselves and fork with 99.9% hashing power

I firmly disagree of getting the Bitcoin Foundation up after what has happened. They were as corrupt as some governments out there. But I'll stop here as the Foundation isn't the scope of this thread.

I'm pretty certain that consensus will be reached. At the very worse it will be reached when everyone has the rope on their necks and time is running out for 1MB blocks

The Bitcoin Foundation had the potential to be a good force for political  and economic advocacy, but they failed miserably.
Now their name is tarnished to the point that everything related to Bitcoin Foundation is considered 'bad'. Please don't mention BF anymore.

Exactly this. I don't even know what purpose they serve anymore. They have lost all the trust that they ever had. I don't see what they can do in the future to regain any of the trust back. In my humble opinion, it would be the best to disassemble foundation completely. If this cannot be done or it won't be done, then we should just forget that they ever existed.

I mean that we are finally aware of what really happened on the Bitcoin Foundation and have now proof to call them a failure. And yes, we have all the right to ignore them, as they are certainly a toxic asset to Bitcoin.

The Support for Bitcoin Core is increasing day by day. So there is no problem with Bticoin XT.  But the problem is with panic sellers who fear about the Fork.

Exactly this. I don't even know what purpose they serve anymore. They have lost all the trust that they ever had. I don't see what they can do in the future to regain any of the trust back. I still believe the Foundation may prove useful sometimes in the future. I understand many people distrust them, but they now have an opportunity to regain some trust, so if they're smart (maybe they're not), they should seize it. Besides the blocksize problem, another issue is that the BTC community is divided. I could invest more money into BTC, but that division is telling me to wait till things are settled.

Then they should be replaced by someone more competent to implement desired larger blocks on core. Doing so would put an end to xt - core debate,
since there would be no reason for people to choose between them, or desire alternative client. The price would then balance out probably as well.

The foundation is practically dead. It's a pity i once paid for the membership and they had nothing better to do to waste all coins.

Them having a stand in this would not help very much. And them acting like a government would surely not be liked too.
