[WTS] 5 troy Oz. 999 silver Commemorative Disney Coin

I have a 5 troy Oz 999 silver coin commemorating the 50th anniversary of Disney's Snow White. It features Dopey (the greatest dwarf IMHO) and is marked with serial # 001472. The coin is in very good condition, no scratches or dings, with only a slight bit of tarnish on one small part of the edge and will come off with proper cleaning. The plastic case it comes in is scratched a little, and there is no box or certificate of authenticity, but I have taken it to my friend who deals gold and silver and he did his tests (density, magnetism, sound) and said it checks out.

These coins were released as sets of 1/2, 1, and 5 ounce coins, in 1987 and were very popular among collectors, the 5 oz ones being rarest.

Its only around $100 worth of silver, but it is the collector value that counts here. Dopey goes for more than the rest of the dwarves, prince, and group shot in this series... only the one of the witch is more sought after. The last 5oz Dopey I saw for sale online was $245 USD, so this one is a little less than that (1BTC=$224 USD as I type this)

I wouldnt recommend this with a proof finish coin.

In coin world a cleaned coin = coin now worth 50% of what it was before you started.

They say collectors call tarnish "toning" and don't mind it (helps date the coin) but if you must, show it to a dealer and ask his advice.
As I said above... I have not even tried to clean this coin

This is a Gorgeous coin and him handling the rim with his hands will NOT damage it at all Although i don't recommend it with Proof coins. I have seen a few people mention polishes and such.....Never ever ever attempt to clean a proof coin...What is there is there. You will drastically ruin the price even with the Most "Sensitive" silver creams or polishes.

I cringe when people say polish a Proof coin. You only Damage it.

This is a very neat 5 oz Silver round indeed, and I agree with everyone above me- do not attempt to clean it. It already looks to be in pretty great condition as it is, as far as the proof surfaces themselves not being flawed; the capsule is scratched but not a big deal as it could be replaced most likely.

If you don't have any luck with a sale here I know some people who would probably be interested, though they would probably not want to pay a full Bitcoin, or ~$225 for it. I'm not saying it's not worth that either- collector value is everything.

they do pop up on ebay for anywhere between $200-250 so that's my reasoning for the price. I'm not sure i want to let it go for less than that, silver is suffering these days, and i think it will eventually turn around. Also I like Dopey.
