how to embed youtube video in the thread and pic

Need help on how I can include image in the thread post and also want to embed one of the youtube video - your help will be appreciated.

i just know about image
you click on the icon that it is below italic logo
["img"]["/img"]
something like this will apper (but without the " )
then add the link of the image between those tags
like this :
["img"]Link["/img"]
(but without the " )

It's kinda a mix of this.  What I have always done is take a pic of the youtube player and use above to allow clicking on the image.  It allows people to click on a static image that is of the youtube, and it goes the to actual one.

I don't think you can embed active youtube in the forum.  I would love to be wrong though if someone has a way.  For security a lot of things are not allowed to be embedded in forum.

i do not know for include video on the thread, but for the image i usually upload first to tinypic.com/
then you can post in the thread with this format

Maybe you see is a picture with .gif format,
so you think the image is a video

AFAIK , embedding videos and using embed codes are not allowed here in this forum.

You can test it to yourself by inputting those YT's embed codes and by clicking Preview.

In terms of image , the answer is already given.

I guess youtube bb code is unavailable on Simple Machines Forum (SMF). If it's not maybe the staffs don't agree with youtube bb codes or its not allowed for some reason. For including image in the thread post / reply, You can try.

Since yesterday newbie are not allowed to post img in some section of the forum.
You need to be Jr. to post them wherever you want.

You can't add any ambedded videos in this forum. Theymos doesn't allow it.
You can use [img] when you become Jr. Member rank (30 activity). Newbies are not allowed to post images.

Finally! I've been searching for what BB Code is supported/allowed in this forum and perhaps a list of them w/examples that are specific to BitcoinTalk. This after attempting to nest within 'img' tag and   'close img' tag several times and looking up on correct use on other bb code sites... and it's because I'm not yet a Jr Member, ah ha.

There needs to be better reference pages/forums that are actually organized. I know they like to keep an eternal thread of the entire forum and they will update some posts from time to time, but this is needed and ought to be placed right up front, or at least searchable, and easy to find.



EDIT: Ha, I just saw this prior post displaying oddly because I used only a set of image tags, typed, not the button, to explain I was looking for a guide on this Forum's supported bb code... and it just read 'img tag' and rendered some strange unsupported text gif, altering the post beyond comprehension. Corrected and now Jr. Member.
