The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Your wallet is located...
C:/Users/[Your username here]/AppData/Roaming/Bitcoin

It's a file called wallet.dat

I assume you're using Windows.
If so, that's the location.

GUIminer is just a mining tool, not a wallet.

download the bitcoin client here: http://www.bitcoin.org/
to get a wallet or just open a account @ https://www.mybitcoin.com/
