It depends on the news, if the market panics enough over a fork that it stagnates this issue to 2016, then I might see it as a buying opportunity as things are about to be resolved.
Else it depends on the situation.

I don't think the fork will be a problem, since the machines getting more and more efficient which lowers the cost of electricity. Especially many people from Venezuela do mining because they have very low electricity costs.
I don't know what i would do if bitcoin value drops to 50 USD. I have only invested a sum in bitcoin which i can afford to lose. Hence, I'm relaxed.

Nobody should have lots of bitcoins in the first place. It is too dangerous.

Just buy bitcoins when you need them. So you won't lose any trust or so whatever

The only significant profit I have ever made from bitcoin is when I have held enough coins for them to increase profit and that is the smartest decision I made, infact I averaged out while buying my new coins in order to not suffer through any major loss and also lost any opportunity for major profit, but pretty sure it was a good move because I see the price climbing back up Cheesy

I don't think it will happen ever again, unless we would have some major glitch. But even if it would hypothetically happen, we shouldn't panic and pronounce Bitcoin as dead. Why? Well this has happened already 3-4 times in the past with the Bitcoin price and every time the price has bounced back and shot past a historic high. So, there is a huge possibility that it would happen again if Bitcoin price would drop to $50.

I voted this:
i still have trust, and i will buy bitcoin with every thing i own

But i dont keep all my eggs in 1 basket. I hold LTC, NXT, Peercoin, and NEM.

I`m thinking about buying more LTC and start buying NAMECOIN after they fix their DNS protocol.

So even if BTC price drops that much, i can hedge it no big deal. One crypto currency will just take over.

Answer (I still have trust, and i will keep my bitcoins in my wallet) But,

I would have lost a small amount of trust for sure and would not spend as much time with Bitcoin, I would however buy a few more maybe 10-20 put them all in cold storage and check back now and again to see if the investment has improved.

Saying that though I really don't think that will happen unless whales know something we don't and unload to $50 but by that time the major panic would have started and the price would keep falling far below the said price.

I doubt that will be happening.

If Bitcoin drops to $50 per coin, then I'll start buying coins (but not a lot of them). I don't have much of a choice right now, as I am in a very difficult financial situation. But within one to one and a half year, my debts and loans will be gone, and I'll be having the freedom of having at least some amount of money in my hand.

If the price is at 50$, I don't think it would have much chances to appreciate either, because people who invested 1200$ buying bitcoin looking at the depreciation of their investments would never advise others, people would be way too demotivated and it would be something very short term, its just hard to imagine people having that trust in bitcoin when its price declined so much, breaking so many hearts and keyboards :/

If the Bitcoin price falls that low consistently over time, then buying lots of Bitcoins at that price can be risky.

If the majority of people share that belief that the Bitcoin price will rise again, then the price will increase again, but if people think that it's not worth it, then you have to realize that the price will continue to decrease, affecting traders and miners.

There doesn't have to be a reason for everything. You can always rationalize, but you may never know the true reason (if there is one). Nobody knows the reason why BTC dropped from $600 to $300 and now to $200s.
So you may have to just take a call - to buy or not to buy at $50.

i think that if price drops on 50$, many people will be buy a lot of coins for cheap price. and strong demand causes an increase in prices.
