8BIT Restart Thread!

This thread is for planning a restart of 8BIT coin, starting with the following idea:

  • Restart 8BIT coin by forking the latest Dash version and doing a coin swap for existing 8BIT, to fix the sync / checkpoint issues
  • Future 8BIT features will be proposed, voted on and funded using the Blockchain Funding system inherited from the Dash code
  • New developers can come in and be paid for by the blockchain, to build the 8BIT features we want.
  • 8BIT 'Board' will steer the transition for 8BIT and help make decisions while we get 8BIT restarted...

8BIT thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028119

Suggested Board members:

(must be community members who are serious about the future success of 8BIT and can put some time into helping)

allZuckedUp,
soco,
drays,
Tinkles,
niki25,
Orestes,
dbt1033,
8Bit Party

Please join the Slack if you want to be part of the restart team: https://8bitleadership.slack.com

(there are more I forgot too, sorry, please post and I will add you)

Haven't given up.   It's always a wise decision to consider other possibilities.

You should ask your request on Services section. There are some users who offers altcoin development services.

I changed the OP to reflect a restart of 8BIT discussed in the main thread, lets discuss here...

Good job on the new thread!
With the idea being to surf the line between a completely open forum, and avoiding the discussion falling into trivialities and bullshit, as it has too often before... Might we want to have one of those "community moderated" threads?  Just throwing it out here..

A lot of people are anxious about any kind of moderation, nonetheless I think it's a good idea. Sure trivialities like fud will pass away but why tolerate it in the first place?
I do think there needs to be some kind of restriction being placed on moderators to prevent power-trips.

Yeah I don't believe in moderation personally.  Freedom is the best route.  I don't think FUD will be a problem, it's only an issue now because there is no development and just FUD to fill the gap.  Once 8BIT development is steady, FUD can be ignored.  And FUD means there is interest...

I think it looks good. It looks like one of the enemies in space invaders.
