Hello,

can someone tell if deleted posts, maybe deleted by yourself or deleted by a moderator, still get counted in the profile page? I now tried to check out the potential activity of an account by using the counter bot. I found that the bot showed 58 posts even though the profile page shows 60 posts. I checked out the timeframes and the posts in the "show posts" link and the forum really only shows 58 posts. But the profile page shows 60 posts and this number isn't dropping. The account is a member too.

So does the profile pages counter not subtract deleted posts?

Then what happens when the only post in a 2 week timeframe gets deleted? Will the potential activity for that timeframe get lost or is it still available?

I wonder what that means for signature campaigns. Can someone spam 20 posts, then delete it and get paid for 20 posts that don't exist but are seeable in the postcount?

Thanks!

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

It's probably the bug I found a while back, a specific combination of actions by both a user and moderator can result in post counts not updating deleted posts properly, until the forum recounts all statistics. It's not very common, and the fix would have it's own issues. The recount fixes it anyway.

Is it showing properly now? If not pm me the username.

Deleted posts should properly update the post counter. If the only post in a 2 week timeframe is deleted, activity and potential activity is lost.

The bug or error could also be with the bot.

-snip-

a user's post count can also appear inaccurate when the someone (or a bot) who is viewing their latest posts is ignoring some boards. either that or maybe it's just a bug like badbear said.

about the signature campaign.. assuming that they uses a bot to count post, the post count will always get reduced whenever a user deleted one of their post. it can even go from 0 to -1.
wait, there's a sig campaign bot that count posts only from their profile post count? I didn't know that.

Bots run by signature campaigns check posts to check whether it meets the criteria, so there won't be any problem.

He is asking about bots which fetch post count from profile page and pays without checking posts.

Yes, it is showing properly now. But now it is even more weird. That account has 56 posts today in the profile page and the post list shows 56 posts too. But the account wears the member signature, so it is proof that it had 60 posts yesterday, otherwise that long signature wouldn't have been possibly been added. Cheesy

Since it had 58 posts yesterday that would mean two old posts had been deleted. 2 posts were added yesterday, they still are there. So it might mean that the post count in profile page was adjusted, what brought it down to 58 and then maybe a thread was deleted where 2 answers were in?

I think that might giving headaches for signature campaign users. Cheesy

Never saw something like that before. Interesting. Badbear, if you ran a script that updated the post count then maybe a number of users will have less posts today. Cheesy

It's very weird, I noticed this too while ago. But i guess it must be a known bug and i think staff are aware with this.
