Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

no, no matter how new or how fancy a coin is, you cant use old hardware to make a profit, rather sell the pc Smiley

You will not make a profit mining with that slow computer. However, do not forget the fun factor of mining.

You should look into renting a mining rig and become proficient at trading coins on an exchange like Cryptsy. Then yes, you can make a profit with that slow computer. The amount of profit will depend on how proficient you get.

Happy mining :-)

Of course you can mine with that old pc but it will have almost no mining capacity at all.

You can try to CPU mine some coins at minergate.com

My advice is for you to mine Bytecoin BCN

Not for profit, no.
Sell some lawn chairs and a table and get $400 to buy an antminer S5.
That my friend, will reap profit.

Hi there, I'm from South Africa.
This means I'm poor, I guess.

There is no benefit from a poor pc to start mining, the problem with the heat will be extremely hard, because it was not designed to mine. Also you can damage your pc parts. Be careful and use for another thing.

This ^

And also, it's good to invest some into getting a good miner now so you can profit from it later.
