Greetings to all !

I am a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of sites offering BTC trading.
What I intend to to is profiting from the volatility of the BTC price in $ or €.

I would prefer a site that allows for instant action, so I do not have to wait for another member to sell/buy at the current price or a slow banktransfer to be executed.

If you are from the USA then it shouldn't be that hard to do I guess , take a look at this : http://heavy.com/tech/2013/12/best-buy-trade-bitcoin-website-sites/ so you should give Coinbase a try  looking at this :

Quote
Armed with only a bank account, you can buy Bitcoin from Coinbase fairly quickly and easily. Bitcoin has instant verification with Chase bank, so it’s the recommended choice if you have a few bank accounts. If you can’t afford a full Bitcoin (roughly $1000), don’t worry, you can buy portions of a Bitcoin. Coinbase will sell you as little as .01 of a Bitcoin, for about $10.

For instant BTC buying I believe the best exchange might be other circle or Bitquick. You can always try to buy and personally by using Localbitcoins.

If you don't wanna wait for bank transfers, you can use your debit or credit card on either Circle, Coinbase or Cex.io. Personally I use Circle and I couldn't be happier with their service, you have your BTC automatically in your account the second you upload money from your card plus their service fee is low.

people who are serious about bitcoin trading won't bother with joining poloniex or bittrex. they are looking to join bitstamp, bitfinex, kraken, etc.

You can find some helpful info here...  http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/volumepie/.  That chart tells you where the biggest volume is and breaks it down by currency.  Bitcoincharts has all kind of other data as well.

You have numerous options. What you need to think about us that some ask for verification to be done even if you trade just bitcoins, so to say, if you don't wire Fiat to the exchange or withdraw it. Bitstamp is one of these, on the other side btc-e doesn't ask for that.

Also you need to think about the security. Posts above have suggested many exchanges, you need to do a research and use the most secure ones, because believe me, there are many shady ones.

Good luck.

you can trade altcoin for more option about volatility.
the volatility on altcoin is crazy, sometime it go up more than 200%, and dump hard. the risk trading on altcoin is very high level.
