If you were given the option to contribute to an organization that accepted bitcoin contributions towards mediumship and afterlife research would you?  I'd like to just get a feel from the bitcoin community about this.

Do people really believe this crap?

My personality type: INTJ - please forgive my weaknesses (Not naturally in tune with others feelings; may be insensitive at times, tend to respond to conflict with logic and reason, tend to believe I'm always right)

Thank you for moving the thread. I thought perhaps that since it was semi-bitcoin related that the bitcoin discussion was an ok place.

As for my beliefs, that is not really the question. However, I will say I support the research.

We already know what happens in the afterlife.  Your body decomposes and eventually gets reused for something else.

You should probably get that looked at.

Start a bitcoin collection and donate it to them. I'm sure they don't accept bitcoin, but you could convert it to USD and send it to them.

This

"In the afterlife" is referencing a place, not just a state of being. Decomposition outside of the physical plane has not been evidenced.

I just registered for the $PLOTS presale! Thank you @plotsfinance for allowing me to purchase tokens at the discounted valuation of only $0.015 per token, a special offer for anyone who participated in the airdrop. Tier II round is for the public at $0.025 per token. Allocation is very limited and you need to register first using the official Part III link found on their twitter. Register using my referral code CPB5 to receive 2,500 points.

Everybody is free to donate to whomever they wish to donate, however I'd rather donate to people trying to educate against irrationality than this kind of "research". (which in fact I have done in the past)
http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/support-us.html

they do not, unfortunately, support Bitcoin, but they are a very important organization whose aim is noble.

Either way, good luck in your endeavor.

Seems you have an evidence to the contrary, don't keep us suspended, please share.

Such researches make no sense. Everyone will know everything about this themselves when the time comes. Anyway, mystical experience is non-provable from the scientific point of view, coz it's almost impossible to conduct experiments.

Do people really believe this crap?

Come-from-Beyond, the great thing is that it's actually less difficult than one thinks to conduct experiments in this field... JREF, CICAP and many other "skeptics" organisations do a rather good job ad doing just that. I think you'd love some of their work

As far as people believing in this crap... billions are spent every ear on snake oil (omeopathy) and the like, so yeah... people do belive in this and continued effeort to "study" or "proove" this fenomena is dangerous and damaging to the weaker links in society.

Why not just link their details here so that we can openly evaluate their "scientific methods" and the credibility of those operating the organisation? Legitimate researchers don't keep their identities or their research methods secret.  Why the secrecy about which organisation you believe should be supported?  Do you have some personal connection with them?

And yeah, the JREF has a large amount of money available to anyone who can prove the legitimacy of mediumship or the existence of an afterlife using "traditional scientific methods".

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.
