If you decide to knock some up in 999 silver I would take one Wink

Thanks, let's see what happens!  Wink

Just curious.. would it be possible for you to make a silver version using this mold? If it is possible I am interested, I could send you 1 kg .999 silver, you have to melt it and make the coin.

That would be EPIC!!!! Cheesy

If this is possible, I would want one as well Wink

Good call, wttbs!!

I would want one too (depending on the price). 1 kg of silver is currently worth $473.08 (1.026BTC). He should went with .999 silver in the first place. Aluminium is currently worth $1.85 per kg Grin.

Well... $473 is trading price, when you want to buy in EU it is about 600 euro for 1 kg .999 (taxes included).

wow, take it easy  Grin. Nothing has been arranged or started yet regarding the silver coin. Just wait for bitcoinarchitecture (BA) to respond. Then everybody can decide what auction to take. No group thing/buy. If and I say if it is possible and BA wants to do it, every should take personal action and provide the silver individual.

Being that, if this does become a possibility, would there be a way to source the silver for USA customers??
It would be cost prohibitive for me to send 1kg of anything overseas, not to mention the import costs and what-not....

Just my 2 satoshi!!  Cheesy

Thanks

For non-EU members you can make an exception of course regarding the silver and a EU member will do some kind of groupbuy for the silver. First let us all wait for BA to answer...

Hey guys,

Thanks for the interest and that you like my piece, realy appreciate it!

To keep it short: I can't create this piece in silver as it is now.

Reasons:
1. Casting silver needs to be done in a sand mold. The biggest problem with this is that the fine details in the piece will be lost.
2. The actual casting (melting, pooring etc)  I would have to outsource, which makes it expensive.

I chose to do this piece as a coldcast because the details are extremely fine. I can do this proces all by my self, which reduces costs.

To meet my quality standards, this piece in silver needs to be minted. This gives great detail, nice shine to the piece, this is just too expensive for now.

A while ago I have started a 3d desing for a 2 oz silver coin, but this is still in the design fase, can't make any promisses, since I have a lot of project going on right now.

Thanks again guys, and if you want this piece coldcasted let me know!

Well you will see a good example of this in silver in around a months time. I will be doing a 5 troy Oz and 1 Troy Oz fine silver coin which was inspired by your work. If you like I can send you a 1 Troy Oz coin your way so you can see the detail. The illustration was done by hand and touched up digitally but so far it looks amazing.
