Hello. Yesterday I mad two deposits to my wallet. One for $180 and another for $97. I then sent $271 to a friends address. 5 minutes Later I recieved a duplicate payment of $97 creating a double spend. This left my transaction of $271 unconformed. Can someone me please help me out? Blockchain.info was no help whatsoever. Is there anyway I can undo the transaction ? It's been over 50 hours and 0 conformations. Here is the hash https://blockchain.info/tx/3803ef67dc603ca2c80b9d0ea3bc928ec999b9d22b287db2a663ba3aa5856e03

If someone could help I'd be glad to donate

That transaction no longer exists in blockchain.info. Here it is on blockr https://btc.blockr.io/tx/info/3803ef67dc603ca2c80b9d0ea3bc928ec999b9d22b287db2a663ba3aa5856e03

What do you mean you received a duplicate payment?

None of those links have transactions on the end of them.
I think you may just be pulling our legs for some sort of extra gain, donations or something.
Your only post, new account named after this.
I have no faith in this claim.

Hi there, I'm from South Africa.
This means I'm poor, I guess.

I'll break it down.
OP received three transactions.
https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/2f82896a735335765efd6ca714c04b64e290973a983a82ef13593255593e7962
https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/5f27d732b14bedae9d0b0c048d81565ecaf8349ac35c8273468bc966def8b671
https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/ddee04c744d46f02567f753c07dd17c8fc59e527afe5ef036871ea67c2f04b37
OP tried to spend the three UXTOs without waiting for all of them to confirm. The third transaction turns out to be a double spend and it was invalidated by the nodes. The transaction he posted was then considered invalid by all the nodes.
The transaction would eventually be dropped out of the mempool and the inputs would appear to be unspent and you can create a new transaction. In this case, an alternate transaction was sent to OP, compensating the double spend.

I wish if blockchain could send funds in a flash. I feel it is quite dramatic to wait for the reception of digital funds.

the transaction is created pretty much instantly, but the confirmations take time. One of OP's receiving transaction was cancelled because the sender of the transaction sent the funds twice, and it wasnt confirmed.
so im guessing that the person who sent OP the money was a scammer.

All transactions are instantly registered in the Blockchain. As for the confirmation, it's usually safe enough to wait for 1 confirmation, which shouldn't take more than 10 minutes of a decent fee was paid.
In this case, OP used funds he didn't really own because he wasn't careful enough to wait for his funds to be confirmed.
Because of this, all subsequent transactions were invalidated.

More specifically, Bitcoin transactions can be proporgated in a matter of seconds. A double spend does not instantly mean that the sender is a scammer. The sender may have a bugged wallet which sent two transaction by accident, it could just be unintentional. Additionally, OP was compensated in another transaction.

It's to prevent exploits and to confirm that its actually been sent multiple times. 6 times to be xact untill the funds are properly there

Nodes have deleted the tx, as it had double spend. Funds have probably been returned to OP.

Bitcoin transactions propagate throughout the network in seconds. Preventing double spend, I.e. spending the same inputs two times is prevented by confirmations. The higher the confirmation, the harder it is to reverse the transaction. For most cases, one confirmation is enough. If it is an exchange, 6 confirmations may be needed to provide extra security.
