This has been brewing for a while, and there have been some major players basing themselves there. It's weird how hubs appear, but in this case all the circumstances happened to be in favour. It's also an off shore banking place. Not a hell of a lot else going on there though.

That is one giant article... Nice to see this forming though. What got me wondering, does bitcoin really need a hub? Being digital, can't the hub consist of players around the world, being linked through the internet?

Cool article. Not sure it's necessarily the best thing in the world to continue being associated with tax havens, but hey, why not.

Why not? Tax heavens exist for a while and will exist many more years. Why? Well old, wealthy, gray haired gentlemen needs them to exist. If it's in their interest, trust me they will do everything to keep them up and running. As for the Bitcoin, this is a great news. We need places like this, to emerge, and to give us a recognition and to essentially give us a chance to do business, something that other conventional government are still reluctant to do.

That is true. Many wealthy gentlemen and ladies find refuge for their monies there. Why not for their Bitcoins too. That being said, most of these people own web/retail stores who could be accepting Bitcoins.

What a cool play to live. I can drink my beer with my bitcoins and paying my bitcoin wallet I want to live this place or somewhere like that one. It's a great place if you love your motorsport. If you're the type who likes to roll around on the beach you might find the weather will break you. It's in the middle of the Irish sea.

You have to read between the lines : " Cryptocurrency exchanges must now abide by the island’s anti-money laundering and know-your-customer requirements, with the Isle of Man’s financial regulator enforcing compliance. “To keep crime out and protect the consumer is our absolute priority,” Donegan says. " and " Woolnough says submitting to “an intelligent regulatory regime” is the only way bitcoin will gain widespread acceptance. “Otherwise, bitcoin could become just the plaything of the dark Web,” he says " Nice place... but still under the control of the Big eye in the sky.
