Service is closed for now.

This is a cheap service for text alerts when there is a large movement in the exchange rate of bitcoins. Every message will be made by me manually. I work at home so I am able to monitor the price 24/7, and monitor wall movements while I am awake. (I am usually up late at night too.) Therefore there is no guarantee that I will catch every single movement, but I will try to catch at least ~95% of them.

If you want to sign up, just leave a post here and send me a PM of the phone number or email you want alerts for. I will give you an address to send payment to.

Text Message/Picture Message/Email alerts
  • 0.25/BTC a month
  • Text messages are for the United States or Canada only (Picture messages are U.S. only)
  • Alert when the price of bitcoin moves 2% or more within a short time range.
  • Alert when large bids/asks ("walls") are placed.
  • Alert whenever something happens which I think deserves an alert.  Cheesy
  • Pictures sent of major wall movements or price changes.

I'd like to add for iPhone users there's an app called Bitcoin Ticker that has a price alarm function. I never have the time to set those alarms however Smiley

Bump

I subscribed right when the service was announced.
I received several alerts already, all timely and precise-short written.
Exactly as I hoped for.

Thank you for this, keep up the good work!

I gotta say, this is such a nice service. Yuhfhrh texts me at all times throughout the day, i'd say I get anywhere from 6-15 messages a day,  I get updates on things like ~10-15c price movements, buy/sell depth changes, and I can even text him back asking for clarification and some chatting! Yuhfhrh is outstanding and I recommend this service as I rest a lot more easy now not having to constantly check my phone or clarkmoody for price changes. Thank you man, you allow me to maintain my bitcoin obsession without having to spend all hours of every day wondering about the price.

..to clarify my
I received several alerts already

I asked to only receive individual alerts for big changes and imminent events. That's why I received only "several" alerts, because I asked for that.

Which means: Talk to Yuhfhrh about your ideas and needs, he surely will help you out with your individual alert scheme, in case you need more or less than his outstanding "regular" service!  Grin

Thanks both of you, but I would like to clarify it's not always 6-15 messages per day. That only happens when we are going wildly insane with price movements. Some days you won't get any notification at all, if the price is stable.  Smiley

I'm interested.

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

Why don't you automate it?

I only have 5 subscribers at this point, and I barely have the technical experience to automate it anyway.
