Hey Guys,

I was wondering what would be better and how much power it would save?

At the moment i am running 3 S5's on 2 corsair RM1000 and one S5 on a RM650 and have a spare RM 1000.
The RM650 is running at max+ about 660 watt and the S5 is at 400mhz @ 1300 Gh/s. So that meens 1300x0.51=663watt. And that is what the S5 sould do. So my gold certified power supply is giving me the 0.51 w/Gh that i want.

So my first question is: would the APW3-12-1600 give me a lower W/Gh?

Then back to the S7. I only ordered one for now.  But will try to get one more in the future. So the first one i will be powering with one RM1000 and the RM650. All fine.
The plan is to build a nice box for it, so it WILL be quiet. And when i get my second S7 i would use 3 RM1000's All together in the box.

So my second question is: Are my power supply's good enough to get the 0.25 J/Gh ( J/Gh and W/Gh is the same i hope) ore do i need a server PSU
And if i sould get a server one would it be the bitmain one ore sould i get the 2880 IBM one (if you can still get it)

I am a hobby miner so it's fine if it will cost a little but not to much. And i would actually like to have the IBM. Beter cabels and beter build. (i think)

So the last question is: Is it worth it to get a different power supply the my corsair's?? As i already have them and getting new ones for 2 S7's will be like €400 for the bitmain ones and probably the same ore less for the IBM.

Thanx for you input,

Beffje

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Here is everything you are looking for: http://www.cybtc.org/article-86-1.html  What your most likely looking for is "80-plus Platinum" is what it could be considered.

I have a few and they do work good with lots of PCIe cords.   Make sure you have the proper electricity they will not run on 110/120.

If you have 3 RM1000's though they are all gold.   I would just use them unless you need them or other things as 3 RM1000's is a lot to use on 1 miner.  But if they are laying around... use them.

I´m in Amsterdam so we have 230v all good there.
And i would be using 3 RM1000´s to power 2 S7´s

But how much differents will it make. gold or platinum=

About your test - 356W with one S3+ is nothing special. With Platinum Corsair AX860 I measured only 341W.
Would be good to try it with more load.

It is not my test I cannot take credit for it.  Just was posting a link to cybtc's site.  As he seems to have most in depth review.

i am running a dsp-2000bb and efficiency at load is 92%, els around 96% so this means this should be platinium? while it is only silver ratad?

the big one is rated at 96% load efficiency and 98% not full loaded and this is platinium, so this should be like super platinium? Tongue  .

If there was a rating it should be Smiley.   I am very with my PSU's they are good quality, and a ton of PCIe cables.   Which is nice for newer bitmain products.

So add all of that and quality, it really is a great product overall.

I've made mine, i puted home wiring cables directly from contactes they fitted perfectly that i didn't even need to solder.

But on the end i had to make some wiring for the Pci-e molex and the home wires are to fat and hard so wired some 18awg cables from an old psu.

Tought the 18awg cables get hot it's working great, only pulling 1kw from the psu but it's been really good on the clocks and frequency nothing to comaplain  Grin.

I did look onto this PSU , but for the price i prefer to wire my own Power supply , i did pay like 50us for my psu and wiring was completly done for free .
