Is it possible to cancel a transaction that is being sent but is taking hours to complete?  I want to cancel it and resend the transaction.

No, only way to 'cancel' it is to double spend it.

Send the same transaction but with a higher fee, use the same inputs you used on the last transaction.

You most probably used a low fee and thats why its stuck and not being processed.

Do you have a link to the transaction?

It could be that it is just delayed due the large number of unconfirmed transactions. There are at present just under 30,000 unconfirmed transactions so it might go through a little later.

It will go through, you're just going to have to be patient.

The input used for the transaction seems to be still unconfirmed by Blockchain/info but when looking back it seems like it has been confirmed now.

In any case, give it some time, looks like it should be processed within the next couple of blocks, that's unless I missed something.

I tried again with a higher fee and it worked and was successful.  However the destination of the transaction is not showing any record of it going through.  Have to work it out with them.  Thanks for your help
