I will pay 5 BTC to the first person who tells me the full name, home address, and telephone number of b4rrydoyle on Bitcoin Market. He owes me either 30 BTC or 500 USD. This offer is lowered to 1 BTC in the event that I ever actually get my PayPal dollars---or 0 BTC in the event that you are b4rrydoyle. I have the following information to start with: Buyer ID 5184 Uses choupex@yahoo.frUses pierre.chabot@laposte.net (but this may be a stolen account) BitcoinMarket login history: 19913 5184 93.96.21.223 Succeeded 2011-06-02 19:15:25 20041 5184 82.22.253.146 Failed 2011-06-02 20:12:22 20044 5184 82.22.253.146 Succeeded 2011-06-02 20:12:40 21033 5184 80.7.151.74 Failed 2011-06-03 09:36:20 21034 5184 80.7.151.74 Succeeded 2011-06-03 09:36:50 21069 5184 80.7.151.74 Succeeded 2011-06-03 10:13:24 21515 5184 82.255.162.61 Succeeded 2011-06-03 15:47:56 21819 5184 82.255.162.61 Succeeded 2011-06-03 19:17:23 23760 5184 217.23.3.57 Failed 2011-06-04 12:03:02 23762 5184 217.23.3.57 Failed 2011-06-04 12:03:20 23763 5184 217.23.3.57 Failed 2011-06-04 12:03:33

Created an account to let you know he did the same thing to me. Bought 15BTC from me at 16.50 each. Amount showed up in Paypal, and then he disputed the payment. Contact via e-mail didn't solve the issue, and paypal eventually reversed the transaction. Luckily, I hadn't confirmed the transaction yet, and my btc remain in escrow.
Does anyone know what bitcoinmarket does when you don't confirm the bitcoins? I'd like to get them back. I've contacted support, but I've yet to hear back. Hopefully they're returned, and not given away after X hours...

Guys, sorry for the fraud, you need to STOP accepting Paypal if not from reputable members.

If you don't own the private keys, you don't own the coins.

I had had a very similar experience from the same exact thief.
No need to mention I was careless, I accept that.

If you issue the two currencies on an OT server, you can trade them against each other, with receipts on both sides, and the server processes the trades based on your individual market offers. (So you don't have to trust all of the traders on the market, only the dollar-issuer whose currency you are trading.) I haven't added escrow yet, (meaning more of a private arrangement between two specific parties.) However, obviously this needs to be added and ASAP, so I'm posting here now to ask you guys to give me the specs for escrow as you see that you need it. -FT

Thank you for this and all your work FT. Maybe the escrow use case discussion should have it's own thread, I bet many people with good thoughts won't be reading this one. The only features I can think of are: * configurable agreement between parties on the number of confirmations before a transaction is accepted. * integration of ripple-style trust routing: http://ripple-project.org/Protocol/Protocol05Also, for my particular issue, I should be fair to paypal and mention they have restored my account and will follow their standard practices against the thief. Everyone who isn't aware of Fellow Traveler's work please get familiar now: https://github.com/FellowTraveler/Open-Transactions/wikiEveryone who is familiar, please send him some support.

Update: There is no way I'm getting my PayPal dollars back. Thus the reward is definitely 5 BTC.
I've gotten some useful information, but all of it requires me to do the legwork of tracking this guy down. I still don't have a name (though "Barry Doyle" is a good guess), an address, or a phone number, let alone all three.
Here's some more information that may help you out: b4rrydoyle's login history on BitcoinMarket.
