I used CC for my purchase.

Ah that's probably why.  I guess I'll have to contact him about the link between bitpay and his website

hummmm, yeah mine does not show as complete... just as status 'confirmed' ...i did a 'simulated' buy, but didnt send any payment. so both my orders show in my order history as 'confirmed' eventhough a payment was sent for my 'second' purchase.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=79637.msg1290426#msg1290426

Confirmed and Completed both mean "paid", except Confirmed seems to be when you pay with BTC, and Completed when you pay with CC.  However, bitpay seems to have a problem and marks those that weren't paid with "Confirmed" as well, and he says here he will go through his invoices at bitpay when shipping to be sure you paid.

Finally decided to call him because his backlog on emails is probably huge and I'd rather he focus on getting his product shipped anyway instead of replying to every email.  He posted the above announcement after I asked him if I can regurgitate the information he told me.

Are these realistically shipping this year?  If so I would be interested in ordering, but I received no reply when I e-Mailed you concerning the product.

I am not cablepair (Tom).  I am just a customer like everyone else on this thread.  I was merely relaying information that I learned after I had called Tom (he posts his business number on the forums openly)

He claims they will ship out the first week of December, but I have no clue.  Since his "new website" launch was delayed multiple times already, it is conceivable that there will be issues that come up and delivery date changes.

Since he is closing pre-orders at midnight tonight eastern time so he can work on getting the first batch of pre-orders delivered, I suggest you decide soon.  You can find all his posts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=10804;sa=showPosts

Dunno if you're still updating the list crazy8s, but I've reclaimed order #1343 with a second 54Gh 72Gh bASIC 01.

I noticed that they haven't updated their site as well, but I'll go ahead and keep them listed as 72/36.

That's about an extra 20-30% more GHs/1kUSD compared to BFL and Avalon. I have a few main concerns tho:

A) They're having to redesign the board, which could put drastic delays in shipping.
B) Will the number of orders shipping in the first batch remain the same if they now have to spread those chips over fewer units?
C) How do they expect to add more chips onto a redesigned board, and expect the power usage to remain the same?

Yeah the extra speed is really nice and means you pay nearly $7/Gh less with bASIC than a Single SC, the decision just got a whole lot easier and there's a flood of new orders according to buzzdave.

A) We shall see, Tom or Dave said the board may have to be increased in size slightly to accommodate. Tom still believes he can ship in the near future. No sense worrying too much, they promised to update the shipping question tomorrow.

B) That's a tough one. They did that reclaimed order# thing because they seemed to think they had more than enough, then almost immediately they announced the increase in chip consumption/bASIC. There was also a comment from Dave that I found unusual about forgetting about batches and shipping out mass quantities of product. Perhaps we'll get more on this tomorrow.

C) The whole thing seemed to come from the "enginerds" I believe they were called. Smiley The brief explanation from Dave seemed to read like they were able to increase efficiency by using 8 chips. Presumably this means they were able to lower power consumption of the chips themselves to the point that 8 now do more work and consume less power than 6. This is largely speculation on my part, but the powers of 2 explanation does makes sense.

They must feel "pushed" in to doing something for their coustomers, As said on their site, We garentee this will be the minimun speed of our units, We have be very reserved in our spec and probably able to get faster with further firmware. So I beleive they had the room to start with, Because BFL had announced a speed jump, Every other producer had to steep up with something. Sort of feel like BFL was "very reserved in their speed" also.

Anyone recently order something at bASIC or should we also wait for more information?

Think it'd be prudent to wait at this point. Status update coming late Monday.

I've been trying to keep this list as updated as possible, but no one's posted anything recently.
